Joining from where you are, in the moment, this workshop welcomes movers from all backgrounds and levels of experience. Drawing from decades of practice in Contact Improvisation, Contemporary/Postmodern Dance, and Body-Mind Centering, Lani Nahele will invite participants to trust sensation as a guide, allowing movement to emerge through inquiry, presence, and relationship, rather than focusing on achieving specific shapes or techniques. One of the inspirations for this workshop is related to spirals found in nature, in our bodies, and in our growth patterns throughout history. We repeat, but at a new level, with integrated information. Together, we will investigate and explore developmental movement patterns and sequencing, anatomical structures, as well as spatial relationships, both in solo exploration and in contact. Through structured improvisations and exercises, we will experience how the body’s tissues, weight, and organization support movement, cultivating greater efficiency and responsiveness. Saturday, September 26 | 10:00 AM–3:00 PM Sunday, September 27 | 11:00 AM–2:00 PM Sliding Scale Pricing $175–$220 We are offering two BIPOC scholarship spots for $75 first come first serve. update- scholarships have been claimed , payment plans available Lani Nahele is a professional dancer, choreographer, movement educator, and bodyworker based in Western Massachusetts. After earning her BFA from SUNY @ Purchase, she danced in New York City with Ohad Naharin and was a member of the Trisha Brown Dance Company for several years. For over four decades, Contact Improvisation has been central to Lani’s movement and teaching practice, and she had the opportunity to study directly with Steve Paxton, the instigator of the form. She also studied extensively with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen and became a Certified Practitioner of Body-Mind Centering in 1994. Lani is also trained and certified in Circulatory Massage, Pilates, Gyrotonics, Gyrokinesis, and Reiki. ♡♡♡♡♡♡ For any questions or inquiries email gabriellekahn6@gmail.com Link in bio to register:)

🌿✨🌀 So grateful for the chance to have met Lani Nahele @laninahele last summer at the Brinca Festival @galiciacontactfestival Lani is a dancer, choreographer, and somatic educator whose work bridges contemporary movement, body-mind awareness, and deep embodied healing. Her decades of experience—from performing with the Trisha Brown Dance Company to teaching somatic practices internationally—continue to inspire artists and movers around the world. I’m delighted to share that she will also be teaching at Earthdance @earthdance_creative this January, bringing her unique presence and wisdom back into the community. And the Silver Elves are so proud to see her wearing one of our creations. The Spiral of Direction is a very special pendant—it was the first design ever made by the Silver Elves, a symbol of guidance, flow, and the paths we choose to follow. Seeing it with her feels like a beautiful full-circle moment. 🌿✨🌀 #contactimprovisation #contactimprov #underscore #dancejewelry #spiral

We’re excited to introduce our fifth teacher for Spiral & Root 2026! Lani Nahele, in her own words: „I have been intrigued by the human body and its movement potential my entire life. I have been a professional dancer, a choreographer, a dance company member, a collaborator, a movement educator and a bodyworker. I earned my BFA at SUNY @ Purchase. In NYC, I danced with Ohad Naharin, then with Trisha Brown in her company for seven years. I then spent several years in Europe: Spain, France, Austria and Germany teaching, making choreographic work and performing. I was awarded a commission in Germany and made a women’s quintet. Collaborators have included Frey Faust, Dieter Heitkamp, Helge Musial, Ka Rustler, Eva Geueke, Catherine Musinsky, Olivier Besson, Jen Polins, Saliq Savage, Chris Aiken…and others. I taught dance and pedagogy at Springfield College while guest teaching at Bard, Marlboro, Smith, Julliard and Keene Colleges. I studied directly with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen and have been a Practitioner of Body-Mind Centering since 1994. I have been trained and certified in Circulatory Massage, Pilates, Gyrotonic, Gyrokinesis and Reiki. I direct Studio rEvolution and there I center my private bodywork practice, Embodied Healing.“ For more information about Spiral & Root and to apply, link in bio. #earthdance #spiralandroot #contactimprov #contactimprovisation #laninahele

⭕️ BRINCA, Galicia Contact Festival, IV ed. ANYA CLOUD, LANI NAHELE, LAURA HICKS, etc. July 7 - 13 (Lugo, Galicia) 🔥 LAST PLACES AT 360 Euros 🔥 ......................................................... 🔹️🔹️CLASS 4▪️GABRIELLE REVLOCK: Restorative Contact @restorative_contact Restorative Contact (RestorativeContact.com) is a partner attunement practice designed to cultivate grounding through attention to the present moment. Using touch as the primary anchor, participants are guided through a primarily floor-based choreography of touch and weight-sharing, using a variety of surfaces of the body. Class moves at a pace where we have time to digest the unfolding experience. Through the practice participants will tune their ability to listen through the skin and let go of unwanted tension, emerging with a deep sense of peace and calm. Following a set sequence, the workshop will progress into more improvisation and include verbal processing. 🔹️🔹️GABRIELLE REVLOCK BIO: Gabrielle Revlock, is a dancer/choreographer and the creator of Restorative Contact, a mindful touch and movement practice. Her research on the therapeutic applications of Contact Improvisation is published in the 2024 book Resistance and Support: Contact Improvisation @ 50. Revlock was an invited teacher at CI@50, the Embodiment Conference, the Dance & Somatics Conference and the Future of CI Conference. She has studied CI since 2003 and has taught the form at Movement Research, the School for Contemporary Dance & Though, Philadelphia Dance Projects, DNE Dance Camp, Montreal Annual Jam pre-festival, Smith College, Hampshire College, Amherst College, and Salt Spring Island Contact Improvisation Festival. She holds an MFA in Dance from Smith College. More at GabrielleRevlock.com
