don’t sleep on the east bay 🪩

a guide to restaurants in oakland/berkeley ☆

#bayarea #eastbayeats #oakland #berkeley

📍 cheese board collective pizza

+ weekly pizza: corn and tomato

always a long line but line moves superrr quickly!! the pizza was pretty dense, a little doughy but wasn’t too oily.
i like that the pizza flavor changes daily, makes it fun to go back!

📍 imm thai street food

+ kang jerd (soup w/ vegetables & glass noodles)
+ pad thai
+ thai tea & viet coffee

a classic thai in berkeley!! my favorite was the soup, it was super refreshing and honestly a great portion size for the price (only $8). the only downside is that the thai tea and coffee were reallyyy too sweet :(

📍 emilias pizzeria

+ standard cheese

hole-in-the-wall, one-man, pickup only pizza restaurant that is worth the hassle of online preordering, literally so! good! the pizza was perfectly cooked and the crust was super thin, probably closest to a nyc pizza in berkeley!

📍 la note

+ cote est (pancake & eggs & bacon)

restaurant was completely full at 8am on a saturday :0
honestly the interior was super cute and the food was quite decent but not worth waking up early just for it…
highly rec going on a weekday and getting the oatmeal raspberry pancake, the best one!

📍 namastey patio

+ aloo gobi
+ palak paneer
+ tandoori chicken
+ chana masala
+ mango lassi
+ garlic naan

the mango lassi here is to die for.
everything we ordered was made perfectly and super flavorful but the star of the show was definitely the mango lassi, probably the best one i’ve ever had!

📍 flour + water pizza shop

+ burrata pizza

hands down the best pizza i’ve ever had
i think this is closest to an neapolitan pizza but the crust here was genuinely perfect! the burrata pizza had a slight kick and legit tasted like a pepperoni pizza, a little oily but we easily each ate half of pie :)

📍 kaokao grill

+ char siu pork over rice
+ crispy peanut noodles

genuine crack in their char siu pork!!
their pork is on the sweeter end but the skin is perfectly caramelized and the meat is superrrr tender. the peanut noodle is super refreshing and massive! portion!
one of my all time favorites in
