“If you’re black and working class, you’re more likely to be diagnosed with mental health problems* (and this is only if you look into taking the necessary steps to get help). Factors like poverty and racism come into, but also elements like the mainstream mental health services failing to understand or provide services that are acceptable and/or accessible to non-white British communities. This needs to be addressed as there are so many young black men struggling.” #WorldMentalHealthDay

Really excited for this genre-defying performance piece from @lanremalaolu at the Roundhouse next week! The Elephant in the Room blends spoken word, hip hop dance and physical storytelling to tackle issues of race, masculinity and mental health. Looks incredible! Let us know if you’re planning to check it out - the 10 Oct performance is already sold out! #FoundOnThespie @roundhouseldn #theatre #london #spokenword #mentalhealthawareness #fridayfind
