Structured training, teamwork, and athletes enjoying the process. You see athletes working together, encouraging each other, performing challenging movements, and bringing positive energy into the weight room.
AVHS SPORTS PERFORMANCE | D.R.E.

DISCIPLINE. RESPECT. EFFORT.

Three principles. One standard.

D — DISCIPLINE
Show up. Be consistent. Do the work, even when it’s challenging. Build habits that carry beyond the weight room.

R — RESPECT
Respect the weight, your body, your teammates, and your coaches. Train safely, support one another, and take pride in how you represent your team.

E — EFFORT
Bring intent to every rep, every set, and every practice. Give your best effort in everything you do.
And don’t forget to enjoy the process.
The smiles, laughter, competition, and energy are just as much a part of our culture as the work itself.
We want athletes who train hard, encourage one another, embrace challenges, and genuinely enjoy showing up.
Because developing athletes isn’t just about building strength, speed, and power. It’s about building confidence, relationships, character, and a lifelong appreciation for training.
Work hard. Have fun. Build each other up.

D.R.E. — The standard at AVHS Sports Performance.

This is why I do what I do. To glorify God and connect with others through faith. 🤍 Thank you, Coach Jang and Coach Morales, for being willing to speak openly about your faith and share what Christ means to you. It means a lot to see coaches use their influence to point others toward Him. Thank you both for being examples of Christ in and out of the weight room. ✝️

One interview at a time! Sharing my first interview on here because sports and hearing people’s stories and experiences are something I’m truly passionate about. My goal is to become a sports field reporter, and I’m excited to start putting myself out there and gaining experience along the way. One day, I’ll create a separate account just for my interviews and sports journalism. For now, this is just the beginning of something great‼️

A big thank you to Coach Morales for taking the time to let me interview you and share your experience!

EXPLAINED HERE👇

What you have here are a few exercises I put together for a colleague who recently had shoulder surgery to address his bicep, tendinitis, and shoulder debridement.

These are exercises that I have used in the past for myself and other personal training clients who are returning to lifting or sport after a shoulder or bicep injury.

The purpose of the exercises is to stress, the bicep tendon at both ends where it connects to the skeleton in order to make it strong enough to begin training up to your level of ability before the injury.

Bicep tendinitis is a very common issue many of us deal with. If you have pain on the front of your shoulder due to bicep tendinitis, and you experience it when you are holding objects at length, like getting milk out of the refrigerator or attempting to reach across and get your seatbelt on, or pull the covers over, these exercises could be for you!

If you have any other questions related to pains elsewhere, please let me know, I’m looking for you.

AVHS PERFORMANCE | SUMMER 2026 ☀️🏈🏐🏀

What a summer! Our student-athletes put in the work—football COD & power training, volleyball jump development, and basketball contact preparation.

More than preparing for a sport or the college level, we’re building young men and women who care enough to get better and make their teams better.

Huge thank you to our parents, coaches, and athletes who made these opportunities possible. 🫡

And thank you to the coaches, clinics, and conferences from across the country that continue to challenge and inspire us to improve year after year.

2026–27 is coming. The future is bright at AVHS. 🔥#nsca #nhssca #strengthandconditioning #sportsperformance #athlete

THE FOUNDATION CONTINUES. ⚡️

This summer, our athletes put in the work—and we’re already seeing the difference.

Front squats looking smoother.
Banded acceleration.
Broad jumps.
Box jumps.
Bench press.
Better movement. Better confidence. Better athletes.

But development doesn’t happen in one summer.

It happens through consistency.

Summer Development Block | Final Week

What an incredible summer! Over the past eight weeks, our athletes have built strength, speed, confidence, and better movement patterns through purposeful training.

This week, we’ll celebrate their hard work by re-testing:
⚡ 40-Yard Sprint
🔄 5-10-5 Pro Agility
📐 T-Test
🏋️ Front Squat & Bench Press
📊 Additional performance measures

Testing isn’t about comparing athletes—it’s about measuring growth and celebrating progress.

As school begins, remember that athletic development is built year-round. Strength, speed, and power are qualities that must be consistently trained to maintain and improve.

🍂 Our August–December Development Block is now open!

This next phase focuses on General Physical Preparation (GPP)—developing stronger, faster, more resilient athletes through evidence-informed training designed for long-term success.

A huge thank you to CrossFit One Society and their owners and staff for supporting our athletes and providing an outstanding training environment.

Thank you to every athlete and parent for trusting Stoic Athletics.

The foundation has been built. Now it’s time to keep growing.

💪 Stronger. ⚡ Faster. 🧠 More Confident.

More Than Speed. More Than Strength.

At Stoic Athletics, we’re not simply coaching athletes, we’re helping young people build habits that will benefit them for years to come.

Every sprint, lift, jump, game, and challenge is an opportunity to learn.

To learn how to move well.
To learn how to work hard.
To learn how to be coachable.
To learn how to overcome challenges.
To learn how to support teammates.
To learn that progress comes through consistency, not perfection.
To learn on to problem solve

Our athletes are still learning. Their movements won’t always be perfect, and that’s exactly how growth happens. Offering them strategies, based on principles and letting them pick the most appropriate tool for them.

Through structured coaching and age-appropriate progressions, they develop strength, speed, coordination, confidence, and an appreciation for an active lifestyle that extends beyond sports.

Our mission isn’t just to prepare athletes for next season.

It’s to help prepare them for a lifetime of movement, health, and physical confidence.

Every session is designed using evidence-informed principles of long-term athletic development, giving young athletes the opportunity to grow physically, mentally, and socially in a positive environment.

📍 August–December Development Block
🏃 Speed • Strength • Power • Athleticism
📅 2 days/week (Optional 3rd day available)
⏱️ 90-minute sessions

The Work You Don’t See on Game Day.

Championships aren’t built during competition, they’re built through consistent training, purposeful coaching, and hundreds of quality repetitions.

At Stoic Athletics, every session follows a progression built around long-term athletic development.

Dynamic warm-ups to prepare athletes for movement
Acceleration and max velocity training to improve sprint mechanics
Resisted sprinting to develop force production
Strength training focused on fundamental movement patterns
Olympic lift progressions to build coordination and explosive power
Competitive games that develop reaction, decision-making, and athletic confidence

Our goal isn’t to create perfect athletes overnight.

Our goal is to build stronger, faster, more resilient athletes through consistent coaching and progressive training.

Our programming is designed using principles from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and the National High School Strength Coaches Association (NHSSCA) while continually incorporating ideas from leaders in sports performance through ongoing professional development.
