😮 Modern-day #Hillsboroites know it as the #OrencoStation - the Urban community we see in this video is actually called The Platform at Orenco Station. Orenco Station was the name of the community built like a Movie set around Rosebay Park, where the Brownstones and alley-loaded homes still wow people today! Built by Pac-Trust Development, visionary builder Rudy Kadlub, and others, the original projects won more awards than a person can count.

1️⃣9️⃣0️⃣8️⃣ - The real Orenco Station in Hillsboro, Oregon, was built in 1908, but not right here—about 1/2 mile to the East! The town of Orenco began in 1908 as a company town founded by Malcolm McDonald and Archibald McGill for the Oregon Nursery Company (the largest nursery on the West Coast by 1914–1915). The men lobbied the #OregonElectricRailway to swing the rail lines north from the alignment they had settled on, running straight West on Baseline. But millions in fruit trees needed to be shipped from the company's fields, which ran from this location to the Imbrie Farm- or 13 Gables, as it was known. You know it today as @mcmenaminsimbriehall, so the OER said, "Let's Do It," and the train made a long, slow whale's back north and aligned here. Because of that, Hillsboro had a crossing of the original Electric Rail over East Main — and today it is the Arch we all know as the Eastern Landmark to downtown.

🏤 • At its height, the town featured electric street lighting, running water, sewers, a police & fire department, paved roads, a K-12 School, & a post office.
• Decline: World War I export restrictions, the Great Depression, and financial struggles led to the company's bankruptcy by the late 1920s, boundary reductions, and final disincorporation into Hillsboro in 1938. The land sat largely quiet and undeveloped for decades. Through upzoning, urban renewal, and amazing planning work by the Community, we now enjoy #Orenco , shops, eateries and a world-class community!
💯 TriMet opened the Westside MAX Light Rail (Blue and Red lines) through the station on September 12, 1998. Today, this is an amazing community and the jewel of the MAX Light Rail — bar none!

Sunday brunch @laprovence_pdx La Provence in Cedar Hills

Location : 2855 SW Cedar Hills Blvd, Beaverton, OR 97005

What to get : everything ! Their entire menu is incredible but these really hit the spot :

✅hazelnut latte
✅avocado burrata tartine
✅tiramisu
✅canele

Latte and avocado 🥑 burrata tartine with squash was off the charts good, perfectly seasoned , not overly salty. The bread has a nice crunch, avocado spread , a little splash of chili sauce and burrata, pro tip: add the egg ! What a genius creation. Honestly I was needing that more than I want to admit. Tiramisu , what can I say? Dreamy flavor in every bite. On your way out, Don’t forget to stop by the display of impeccable selection of freshly baked goodies and sweets. I couldn’t resist and got a raspberry and chocolate canele, simply heavenly! Moist on the inside and nicely baked to perfection on the outside! Highly recommend. Next time you’re in the area of cedar hills this is a spot to grab brunch.

One of my BEST homemade soups yet! Garden-fresh carrots & lemon boy tomatoes roasted with onions, elephant garlic, organic thyme & sage, then seasoned with all the good stuff: Badia Complete, white pepper, red pepper flakes, Johnny’s Seasoning Salt & Fire & Smoke Holy Garlic.

Once everything was roasted and puréed into silky goodness, I added chicken granules, Kettle & Fire Turmeric Ginger Chicken Bone Broth, Marshall’s Haute Sauce - habañero carrot curry, Trader Joe’s pumpkin gnocchi & some heavy whipping cream. Creamy, savory, a little kick of heat, and SO much flavor! Topped with Cacique Crema Mexicana & a sprig of thyme.

And I almost forgot to mention the crusty Gruyère garlic bread from La Provence, slathered in Trader Joe’s Parisian salted butter that I served on the side.

Garden goodness, cozy comfort & enough to share with my sweet neighbors! Bon Appétit 💚

Some end of summer pics splashed into the start of fall, kinda like I’m dipping my toes into the abyss to check the temp,
¡HAPPY OCTOBER!
Summer is my favorite, so I’m jazzed to still be soaking up the sun & really enjoying Autumn’s arrival 🥰 I’m usually a nervous wreck around this time of year, with the impending doom of November gloom that hits me, before the end of the year typically takes me out ⚰️

This year I’m so stoked to be alive it’s almost unbelievable 😇🥀
I got fired for the fifth time this year on the last day of September, so was feeling very Green Day and eagerly anticipating this new month for my fresh start 🍎 Proud of myself for my resilience & incredible ability to keep it movin’🧵🧑🏻‍🩰🪡🌬️🕸️🕷️

This delightful craftsman home puts you steps from SE Division. The one thing you can’t change about your house is location. You want your neighborhood and area to fit your life. Do you dream of a walkable area where you can put yourself right in the heart of things? Jump into this dreamworld with me for a second…

A tea latte from @goodcoffeepnw on Division

A flaky croissant and a bistro breakfast at @laprovence_pdx, with that little French market feel

Dinner at one of excellent restaurants that make Division a destination like @lechellepdx

An evening walk home on quiet, tree-lined streets

It’s the lifestyle people picture when they say they want to live in Portland, but with a calm residential street to come home to.

The house:
4 bd | 3 ba | 2523 sqft
Built 1912 with plenty of gorgeous updates
Offered at $799,000

Relocating from out of state? I’d love to help you figure out which part of Portland fits how you want to live, not just which house checks the boxes.

Want the details? DM me “Division” and I’ll send you the listing.

Brunch x bouquet pop-up on Sat, 9/26 at La Provence Cedar Hills in Beaverton, OR 🥐💐☕️

We stopped by to pick up bouquets from our friends @jgandbsgarden and local floral designer @jsca_flowers at their pop-up. Every bouquet was grown in their Portland garden and arranged on the spot.

La Provence Bistro & Bakery, a Portland-area favorite since 1996, is one of our go-to spots in Beaverton for brunch and fresh pastries. It’s right in Cedar Hills Crossing, so you can browse Powell’s Books, grab dumplings at Dough Zone, a burger at Shake Shack, or a latte at Good Coffee, with neighborhood parks just minutes away.

When clients ask what to look for in a neighborhood, I remind them a great house is only half the decision. The other half is how everyday life feels there, from a slow Saturday brunch like this to a busy Tuesday morning.

I help busy professionals and young families make smarter real-estate decisions across Beaverton, Hillsboro & Portland. Thinking about your next move? DM me and let’s grab coffee and talk it through ☕
