It is May 6th, 2023, the day of the Coronation of King Charles III in London, and a young man calls Emergency Medical Services claiming the whole thing is making him feel quite unwell. “Thronebosis” makes use of manipulated news footage of the day's events mixed with animation to illustrate the man's concerns in a punk-infused poetic form.

Day 2 afternoon program 2: 𝙈𝙤𝙤𝙣 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙯𝙚

Saturday 16 Dec | 4 - 5 PM

1. PLAYGROUND ~
2006, somewhere in northern Italy. In a Playground of a small, provincial, italian village a young mother and its children are waiting for their friends. Their arrival is not long in coming, the board is set. Young mommys, established upon the ground, conversate around a big table, with a sharp irony capable of comfort and cure and - a second later - hurt. In the meanwhile, their children are into exhibition of guts. A 20-euro bill ripped as act of love, and still, the first kiss, enaugh to touch the sky. The sun sets, their paths divide.

2. Heaven Is On My Side ~
A short film on gratitude and big-wave surfing featuring João “Massas” de Macedo, “Heaven Is On My Side” is simultaneously a documentary and a meditation on environmental consciousness through Macedo's experience at the world’s biggest wave in Nazaré, Portugal.

3. BOPPO ~
A nocturnal, unpredictable and ephemeral encounter with Riley, a former skatepark homeless man from Maui, Hawaii. Through his body expression, on his skateboard, he describes the aura that brought him to the flow of his life.

4. Living Lessons in the Museum of Order ~
Living Lessons in the Museum of Order examines the carceral logics of the Orca Encounter at SeaWorld San Diego and the “Doing Time” tour of the former Alcatraz prison in the San Francisco Bay. Juxtaposing original 16mm footage, promotional VHS and 16mm footage, and analog video feedback, Living Lessons in the Museum of Order explores the tensions between public fantasies and exploitative practices, as well as between rhetorical and cultural changes, within the two California entertainment empires.
