GLOBAL ART PROJECT : an international collaborative collective of 75 artists working in various media based in 17 countries. Organized in 2012, GAP conducts ongoing member projects, creates month-long residencies (Senegal, Italy, Mexico, USA), mounts exhibitions that are derived from member projects, offers workshops and promotes the development of group activity as well as the individual practice of members.GAP sponsors the exhibition with Inspirational Arts Magazine/ uk The Drawing Box / ireland and Studio 55 Martinez / usa
KNEE(jerk) Fragmentation Project:
Aug 20 - Oct 15 KNEE JERK I
was an independent project organized by artist Carl Heyward in 2012 and involved a one-for-one exchange of postcard sized works ( 5 x 7 in / A5 / 12.7 x 17.78 cm) between 500 participants contacted via electronic media which generated more than 9,000 works with roughly 3,000 pieces archived from which the works for this exhibition are sourced. I expect to exhibit about 500 of these pieces in the first installation of K(J) and another 500 when we install the second version.
It is important that this will be the first exhibition of the KNEE(Jerk) Fragmentation Project

THE DRAWING BOX :
OCT 22 - Nov 22 The Drawing Box
is another artist-generated project created in Ireland by
Di Henshaw begun in 2012 as well. TDB has exhibited similarly sized works as K(J) around the world with an emphasis on drawing in spaces contacted by members (about 100 to date) allowing the growth of a community of professional working artists to expose their work to diverse audiences. @globalartproject

frags:
the fragments, the raw materials that might become elements of mixed-media collages or paintings...torn found papers, billboard-tears, fabric, found shopping lists, photos and negatives, discarded canvas and throw-away's that are given new life by another artist who incorporates these raw materials into something new; a way to collaborate via the mail and internet as well as in-person...
mixed-media work derived from the exchange between members of Global Art Project; relinquishing responsibility or ownership going beyond the original intention of an image or idea broken down into fragments ( frags) resulting in a deconstruction, a re-ordering of the visual universe into new ways of seeing...one of the most significant examples of using frags is the giant Dada quilt GAP created assembled by Akiko Suzuki in Osaka and San Francisco this year for the SF International Arts Festival titled The Mystery of Love, Anger and Delusion ( soap-bubbles), a 3.5 ' x 32 ' work derived from over 2,000 frags from the international membership
