📸 In the company of truly ‘Beautiful People’
🎉 The Blacklisted Honours 2026 - The After Party
📍 Mr Porter, Mayfair
🗓 Tuesday 13th October 2026

Now… when I said the room was full of Black British excellence, I meant it.
…
This is but a small selection of the company we kept. A wonderful mix of actors, writers, directors, musicians, media voices and the people working behind the scenes to bring our stories to life. Different disciplines, different journeys, plenty of shared purpose. All gathered to celebrate our own.
…
And what a gathering it was.
...
Longtime friends alongside new acquaintances. Familiar faces brought together in combinations that made reaching for the camera feel almost obligatory. I’d snap one group, turn around, and there was another moment worth capturing. 📸
…
For me, that’s one of the joys of evenings like this. Seeing people whose work I respect enjoying each other’s company, while being blessed to call a number of them friends of many years. Family in attendance too… hollar 😉
…
I zero in on a group, sometimes there’s a brief pause in conversation, a gathering of shoulders, shared laughter… SNAP… I got it 📸. Images I hope we’ll look back on with a smile and a story or two one day.
…
Much love again to @AkuaTBBGyamfi and @thebritishblacklist for bringing this mix of people together. A pleasure to move amongst them and capture some of that warmth through my lens.
…
Talent in abundance. Friendship across the room. And plenty of reasons to be proud of US. 🖤
…
Enjoy the shots 📸

If ever there was an evening that reminded you just how much there is to celebrate amongst US, this was it.
…
Invited to the Blacklisted Honours After Party thrown by @AkuaTBBGyamfi, I attended with my longtime friend, actor @Thespi_Ant. 🙏🏾
…
The swanky surroundings of Mr Porter, in the heart of London’s Mayfair, played host to a gathering that read like a who’s who of the Black British creative establishment. Talent, achievement and cultural influence in every direction.
…
The room absolutely screamed…
“Black Excellence is HERE!”

A further honour went to the woman whose vision and graft made it all possible: Akua herself. Thoroughly deserved. 👏🏾
…
Since founding #TheBritishBlacklist in 2012, @AkuaTBBGyamfi has spent 14 years building a platform that champions Black creatives across film, television, theatre, literature and music.
…
A tour de force, elevating talent and giving visibility to voices across the diaspora, including those of us who also lay claim to British identity.
There is purpose in that work. There is persistence in that labour of love. And behind it all, a woman who has kept showing up for our stories.
…
For me, the night carried an added joy. I was fortunate enough to be in that extraordinary room and blessed to call some of those present good friends of many years.
To witness their journeys, share in their achievements and celebrate together is something I hold dear… I loved seeing it.
…
Of course, I got to 📸 some great moments during the evening. A little of that joy, friendship and excellence, captured through my 📷

There is something powerful about being celebrated by your own community. The British Blacklist’s thebritishblacklist ‘s fourth annual Blacklisted Honours brought that spirit to London, recognising seven creatives whose work continues to shape Black British culture.

In carousel order, the honourees are Aaron Pierre, Ashley Walters, Giggs, Lashana Lynch, Lynette Linton, Sharon Martin and Dean Atta. Together, they represent talent across acting, directing, music, theatre, hair and make-up design, poetry and literature.

Special recognition belongs to Akua Gyamfi, who founded The British Blacklist in 2012 to celebrate Black creatives across screen, stage, literature and sound. Credit to her and the team for the work behind a platform that documents our contributions and creates space for our talent to receive its flowers.

Congratulations to every honouree. There is power in telling our own stories, building our own platforms and making sure the people shaping our culture feel valued.
