✨✨✨Fashionably Late✨✨✨

Chicago Fashion Week 2024 , Hosted by @curioexperience : A Celebration of Style, Creativity, and Connection!

It was an honor to meet so many incredible talents and reconnect with old friends who continue to elevate the fashion scene in this city.

From the visionary @jenrestylefashion , who creates bold upcycled designs, to the creative brilliance of @mode.chicago ,the week was filled with inspiring moments.

I had the pleasure of connecting with @lashawn911 ,a stylish and sophisticated digital creator and stylist, and the amazing @ra_zak_01 , one of the standout male models who will also grace the runway at my Spring '25 Manifest Fashion Show at Columbia College. Special shoutout to @jleblancdesign ,whose newest collection was a showstopper and who’s been an amazing mentor to me as my thesis instructor.

Thanks to the incomparable @salsogroovy ,whose styling expertise made every look shine, and to @sheilathedesigner ,whose timeless and effortless designs left a lasting impression.

Chicago, you’ve shown once again that style and innovation run deep!

Dreams Fulfilled On-Field. 🥹

My Grandad said it was a dream come true to step foot on the @whitesox field. It was also a dream come true to perform the #nationalanthem on this field. He cried tears of joy this day and I was teary-eyed myself. It’s crazy how generational blessings can be fulfilled all at once through patience & determination. 🥹

I’m honored yet humbled! I thank God for my family. There is nothing in the world like this kind of love. 💕

& Thank you to my friend/photographer for capturing these precious moments. I love you deep! @jeremiaholatunde

These last four days have been nothing short of great. Flying from Chicago to Washington, D.C. to work with Dr. Marvel McCain Parker, who is the Executive Director of the Till Institute , has been a remarkable experience. It was a pleasure to be present at the Smithsonian Museum where Reverend Wheeler Parker Jr. and other members of the Till family were recognized for their courage and commitment to keeping Mamie Till’s promise to keep the story alive. I had the pleasure of bringing along my right-hand partner, my sister, LaShawn, who was an immense help.

When you have a parent with Alzheimer’s, you need a great support system. I would like to thank my friends for the calls, text messages, checking on my mom, sending prayers, loving on me, and for relieving me and spending time with my mom, allowing me time to regroup and replenish my energy. My mother was elated when she saw my sister friend LaShawn. They’ve always had a wonderful relationship with singing, laughing, and shopping together. #alzheimers #dementia #iwillbehervoice #brutaldiesease #dementiaawareness #imissthemotheriknew

These recent days have been incredibly rewarding. I’ve been in Washington, D.C. with Dr. Marvel Parker, who was recognized at the White House for her contributions to women’s history. We love you and we are so proud of you!!

My sister, my partner-in-crime, I had an amazing time visiting Roberts Temple Church of God in Christ yesterday. We captured some incredible footage of the reconstruction process and truly enjoyed assisting Auntie. Thank you for such a memorable day!
