Before we start pointing fingers at parents, we have to understand something real: This is a cycle that’s been happening in Chicago for generations. Most parents in our communities are doing the best they can with the parenting skills they were taught. In the inner city, there aren’t many examples of what “the right way” even looks like. And even when a parent pours everything into their child… the moment that child steps outside, they’re up against the real world: 🔹 Peer pressure 🔹 Gangs 🔹 Drugs 🔹 Social media influence 🔹 Violence they’ve seen since birth A lot of these kids aren’t “bad kids” — they’re followers, trying to fit in, trying not to get bullied, trying to survive situations they didn’t create. This is bigger than blaming parents. This is bigger than blaming kids. It takes a VILLAGE to raise a child, and right now our village is wounded. There are MANY hands in creating this crisis over decades — systems, policies, environments, trauma, poverty, lack of resources, lack of mentorship, and yes, sometimes parenting gaps too. But pointing fingers does nothing. 👉 Now is the time to come together, heal, and fix this as a community. Not argue about who is at fault… because there’s enough blame to go around. Let’s put our energy into solutions and not division. 🙏❤️ #ChicagoPeace #savechicago #stoptheviolence

Long post but very good substance on the harsh conditions for young black boys and men to make it out of the inner cities that plague them with violence every day as @wallo267 said on @clubshayshay we can talk all day and night, but until you can take these young boys off the street and move them in with you to take them out of the environment. They are literally in a war zone every day! We pray for our brother @LilDurk for he changed his life tremendously and was doing great things to stop the violence in Chicago 🙏🏼 #lildurk #wallo #shannonsharpe #clubshayshay #chicago #chicagopeaceorg #chicagopeaceorganization #prayforchicago
