FILM STUDY 04 // A #3R_ Series

***
FUNDAMENTALS | BODY WORK

Body work is a critical but often underutilized element in amateur boxing, where fast-paced scoring and headshots tend to dominate attention. However, consistent investment in body shots can sap an opponent’s energy, slow their footwork, and disrupt their rhythm over the course of a bout. Especially in three-round contests, effective body work early can pay dividends late—creating openings for clean headshots when the opponent’s guard drops or movement falters. Beyond its physical toll, body work also demonstrates tactical maturity and ring IQ, showing a boxer’s ability to think long-term even in short fights.
