[FILE #4: Within The Ruins]

Within the Ruins emerges from the struggle of feeling trapped in a cycle of guilt, the guilt of not progressing and of losing one’s sense of identity and purpose. When ambition fades, frustration, sadness, and self doubt take its place, feeding the cycle and deepening the feeling of stagnation. This collection seeks to break that loop by confronting scarcity directly.

The collection is grounded in acceptance, accepting what is, acknowledging where we stand, and learning how to shape what comes next. When nothing external remains, progress demands sacrifice. The wearer is no longer a passive presence within the garment but becomes an active force in its completion, using what they have left, their body, their endurance, their will, to move forward. Change does not begin with perfection, but with commitment.

Visually, the collection expresses this struggle through silhouettes that feel both imposing and refined. Cotton twill, heavy waterproof nylon, poplin, and other utilitarian fabrics form structured bases that appear intentionally incomplete. These foundations are finished through patchwork and added panels in deep burgundy denim, evoking stretched muscle and the physical effort required to hold form and advance. Metal rivets trace the edges of these additions, cold and deliberate, suggesting restraint and control as if securing flesh in place.

The garments do not hide fragility or effort. They carry them. Layered constructions and reconstructed surfaces reflect the act of moving forward with broken parts, pieced together, restrained, and reshaped into something resilient.

The collection celebrates the strength found in reconstruction, the beauty of imperfection, and the quiet resolve of choosing to continue, even when progress demands everything you have left.
