I remember when the city was completely locked down and there was no gyms that I could go to. I would work out outside. I did what I could. And now we here 😈

@hilaryduff recently promoted the slogan “Stronger, not smaller.”

That message hit me hard this week.

Growing up, I was taught directly and indirectly, that I needed to be as small as possible. That “super skinny” was the goal, even when it never felt aligned with my body.

Getting back into lifting these past couple of weeks after being sick has been a mental game as much as a physical one.

I couldn’t eat for days. I lost weight and with it, muscle I worked really hard to build. Walking back into the gym feeling weaker has been humbling in every way.

But I’m reminding myself: muscle memory is real. My body hasn’t forgotten, even if it feels like it right now.

So I’m starting where I am. Lighter weights. Slower pace. No ego.

I don’t want to be smaller. I want to be strong.
