Reveal day is here!! I loved using the #breathekaftan was so much fun to hack. I started by wearing it back to front, added a ruffle along the neckline, pin tucks down the sides with a jute loop trim and self fabric ties to cinch in the waist, gathered sleeve panel and cuff with trim detail, lapped separating double-sided zipper, shortened to ankle length, and added a hem facing. It can be worn as a dress (zipper closed all the way, top (zipper open from bottom slightly), and a duster (zipper opened all the way). The linen flows beautifully. The sleeves are the drama. The waist cinching details makes this size adjustable too!
It made a through a full day of outdoor concert dancing, window shopping at IKEA, and sightseeing in Vancouver🤗

Ok, we are going to be doing ALL OF THE HACKS! The Breathe Kaftan is looking unrecognizable at this point. I’m embracing More is More, and I can’t wait to show you the reveal tomorrow. Of course, my bobbin acts up, trips to the store were made, and plans were changed, that’s just how hacking goes sometimes. But I did sew a lapped zipper and I feel like a magician!

Let’s talk about hacking the Breathe Kaftan.
Simple hacks include shortening the hemline to make a blouse/top. Consider extending the sleeves for a long grown on sleeve effect, leave them the full width or taper them in at the wrist slightly. How about a gather panel at the drop sleeve for a voluminous moment and bring that back into a cuff?
Asymmetry will get me everytime. Add a cut out to the front pattern piece for a flowy elevated look.
We’re the kaftan turned around and with the V-neck in the front, insert a long panel for a sleek necktie moment, it adds modesty and elegance. You could also add a complimentary/contrasting fabric to cover the v-neck with a modesty panel.
The final hack requires some imagination, but is soooo worth it! Follow for more ideas!!

I decided to use this Colbot Blue Rayon Fabric I had in my Stash. I cut out the XL & I shortened it by 4inches.

It’s called a Kaftan, “WE” call them MOO MOO’S . Our Grandmother’s built a whole generation in these MOO’S MOO’S & our Grandfather’s loved seeing them in it. 👀♥️

NOW LET’S GET INTO THESE LOOKS❗️❗️ & how I transformed this Moo Moo to represent my Style! It’s giving Beach Baddie, From the Beach to DINNER (his dinner 😈) to SUNDAY BRUNCH with my Besties❗️ 🍸🍷
