When I think about 2016 it’s actually crazy. I was in an abusive relationship. I don’t talk about that much, but it’s the truth. I think that’s why I barely have photos from that year. I locked myself out of my own phone. So things got erased I didn’t want memories because I was just trying to survive. From the outside it probably looked like I was doing well modeling, traveling, even being in a Gucci Mane video. I didn’t move back home even though I was struggling ( and my parents begged lol) And yeah, some of that was real. But what people didn’t see was how unhealthy my life was, how isolated I felt, and how much of me was in survival mode. That was the year my car got stolen. I had no family here. Uber was expensive back then. I barely had friends nearby. And I still had to show up to work like nothing was wrong. It was also the year I got my first “corporate job” A leasing job, went home to my mom whenever I could, and went to Liberia for the first time to meet my grandmother. I had gone my whole life without her. She passed four years later. And I also want to say thank you to everyone who booked me, hired me, supported me, and trusted me during that time you all really carried me more than you know. To name a few @shunmelson @latchednhooked @jarrettdemetre @lifeastiffanycody etc Looking back now, I see it clearly. I’ve been a survivor for a long time. I kept choosing myself even when I didn’t fully know how. If you see me, just know I’m trying my best.
