“Trials & Tribulations” travels ever further to the lawless frontiers of future folk music. This time finding An Dannsa in a whirlwind collaboration with Cahalen Morrison (western Centuries) from New Mexico USA & Ciaran Ryan (Dallahan / Shooglenifty) on Banjo. The project takes inspiration from legendary Appalachian folk artist Ola Belle Reid’s classic track “I’ve Endured” and pays homage to the hundreds and thousands of Scots and Irish who moved to the rugged mountains during the 18th century. It’s a heartwrenching tale of perseverance amongst the trials and tribulations of life delivered in a soulfull, high energy, wild-west Steppa style. Mixed by Paolo Baldini and dancefloor ready courtesy of La Tempesta Dub. This is different. This is An Dannsa Dub.

A NEXT CHAPTER in DUB, Version 24:
PAOLO BALDINI DUBFILES – 7 DUB 🇮🇹 🔊 🇮🇹
7 DUB is the counterpart to Mellow Mood’s album “7“ which was released in November 2025. Following “Large” and “Mañana,” it‘s the third time that PAOLO BALDINI adds a dub version to an album by the Italian reggae band. Since 2009, the man who made a name for himself with his dub mixes for Bunny Lee, @pressuresounds, and Echo Beach has served as the band’s producer, engineer, and sound architect. He has built himself a dub fortress in a cozy small town in the northern Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, crammed full of every conceivable effect tool a dub enthusiast could desire. The photo gallery on the back of the cover offers a small glimpse into Baldini’s FX arsenal. Here, it’s not just one reverb and an echo unit, like in the good ol’ days; here, there’s an incredible array of echo and reverb machines, and Baldini has no qualms about using them all and getting the most out of each one. He stages 7 DUB like an action movie, for which the lush arrangements of the Mellow Mood vocal tracks provide ample scope. He has no qualms about loud effects, exploding spring reverbs, or harmonizing echoes. 7 DUB goes all out while remaining consistently tight and profound. The bass sounds fantastic, and the overall sound is brilliant. Baldini crafts the mixes in an impressive and highly entertaining way, with varied dramatic structure leading up to a surprising ending. The very last track is a bluesy, smooth dancefloor glider that lets this strong body of work fade away into silence with a final flourish.

We’ll Be Dub!
And that’s exactly what we’ve done...
We went for a “stepper” style on this dub version of “We’ll Be Home” from @mellowmoodofficial having a blast pushing all the reverbs into overload.
Pioneers like King Tubby and Lee Perry taught us just how amazing and surprising it is to drive the reverb on a bassline into distortion, completely revolutionizing the very concept of sonic “clarity.”
For years, engineers strove to develop ever-cleaner, more precise reverb systems capable of faithfully reproducing natural acoustic reflections...
and then along came the dub masters, applying the sound of rattling windows to basslines 😅
For this dub version, we used two reverb units that are polar opposites—yet perfectly complementary: the Lexicon Alex and the S.V.A. A415 Germanium Spring Reverb by @princefattyofficial .
One is a clone of a legendary 1960s design, while the other is a simple, budget-friendly digital reverb from the 90s.

Here Changes Dub🌹
Creating a dub version of a track clearly inspired by the early 60s might seem like a daunting task... until you actually do it! Making this Dub record brought me real joy because it gave me the chance to use outboards I wouldn’t typically use in standard productions.
Here at Alambic Conspiracy Studio, we used the following for this version:

Reverbs –
Reverberatio Unit A415 and Lafayette Echoverb 2
