Such an inspiring night spent at El Museo del Barrio’s @elmuseo gala. It was an honor to meet you @jbalvin and to hear you talk about the importance of creativity and mental health awareness in our community. It was so special to be in a room filled with so many Latinx artists, creatives and champions of Latinx art! So excited and honored to be part of El Museo’s Artist Advisory Council to continue to champion Latinx artists now more than ever. It truly is Latino Gang 🎀🎀🎀

Better late than never, right? 🥂 I’ve been holding onto the energy from the Latinx Project Spring Fundraiser back on April 8th, intentionally taking a moment to let the gratitude settle before sharing these.

It was such an incredible honor to be recognized. A huge thank you to @arlenedavila1 for her vision in founding this organization, and to @victoria_martinez_studio for creating such a beautiful, one-of-a-kind award. The true highlight of the night, however, was being surrounded by so much talent, history, and community spirit. Sometimes the best moments just take a little longer to curate.

Here is a recap of an unforgettable night, beautifully captured by the talented @ArgenisApolinario. ✨ @latinxprojnyu

Someone told me @latinxprojnyu parties feel like an “annual Latinx art prom,” and I felt it was the cutest compliment! While we celebrate giants in our community—this year, Elia Alba, @asahinyc @dr.gilbertocardenas and @nitzatufino—the heart of it all is the new generation of artists and curators we see growing and thriving year after year. Pa’lante—and here’s to protecting and growing all we’ve built! Photos; @argenisphoto my dress: @edwinreyes.nyc

Thankful for the community that said presente at an urgent time when we must protect all we’ve built.

This past Wednesday at HK Hall we honored Gilberto Cárdenas, Elia Alba @asahinyc and Nitza Tufiño @nitzatufino. Special thanks to DJ @undocubougie and also to Victoria Martinez @victoria_martinez_studio for the award design.

A selection images of the celebration have been uploaded to our event page. Link in bio.

🎂 Happy birthday to the original main character of the Renaissance — Raphael, born April 6, 1483! 🎨

To celebrate, I got to do something truly once-in-a-lifetime: a private tour of Raphael: Sublime Poetry at @metmuseum with curator Carmen Bambach, who spent 8 years bringing this exhibition to life. Yeah, 8 years. Let that sink in.

This is the first comprehensive Raphael exhibition ever held in the U.S. — 200+ works tracing his genius from Urbino all the way to Rome. Now through June 28. Standing inches from pieces that redefined Western art? Speechless doesn’t cover it.

Oh, and I left with a complimentary breakfast in my belly and a Met tote full of goodies. Art AND snacks? Best. NYC Trip. Ever. 🎨✨ Special thanks to Karen Vidangos @latinainmuseums for the invitation. I will be thrilled to report back to my friends at the Italian Embassy Italy 🇮🇹 in DC @italyintheus about this wonderful exhibition.

How I became Robin Cembalest: Thanks to @penandbrushnyc team for hosting, all who packed the room, and my special friends who sponsored my talk on Saturday. I loved creating this slideshow about my career & I’m thrilled all my jokes landed! Seriously, I’m full of joy from the experience and the response. I had to share some reviews!

So glad too to share space with @everywomanbiennial, which made such an inspiring backdrop but once again takes center stage through April 11!
