Spain, again. My second time this year, and it hit different. 🇪🇸

Breathe In, Rise Up was more than a retreat, it was @latinasinhr , resting, growing, and rising together.

@priscillaguasso , thank you for creating spaces where we get to show up fully. @toddatomlin , thank you for the flawless execution, all I had to do was show up and live.

Old friends, new friends, laughter, real talks, and a boat ride under the stars that turned into the kind of conversation you carry home with you.

We also got to sit with Hady author of @calladitanomorebook ,and hear the story behind the book, her journey relocating to Spain, and everything that led her there. Her honesty stayed with all of us.

Special thank you to Laura @giraldatours for bringing Seville’s history (and the women in it) to life, and to Isabela @generationsofflavour for a farm to table lunch at her home that left me speechless.

I came home peaceful. Empowered. Ready to build something big.

Te amo, España. 🤍

What an amazing Breathe In and Rise Up Wellness+ Growth Retreat! Spain offered so much for our growth and development…not to mention the delicious food 🍽️ ! We had memorable moments and to think we have ONE more surprise up our sleeve 🫶🏽

Stay close as we plan out our 2027 @latinasinhr trip to Thailand and Mexico!! ✈️

Thank you @memoriijourneys for listening closely to the goals and desires of this trip for our ladies. We hope to work together again ✨

🇪🇸 MADRID | Where We Began our Latinas Rising Up in HR Wellness+Growth Retreat.

Madrid gave us more than beautiful places. It gave us perspective and a place to connect our worlds from Chicago, Miami, New Jersey and Cape Town🗺️

We learned from Beatriz, a local female historian and professor who reminded us that history can be complicated and messy, but it can also teach us how to move forward with hope and peace.

We shared an intimate dinner with Hady Mendez, author of Calladita No More, hearing the honest highs and lows of leaving New York, becoming a digital nomad and building a new life in Spain. We came to receive her story, support her journey and hopefully leave a little light with her too. ❤️

And in between? We ate, laughed, explored Madrid, figured out the Metro, walked through beautiful El Retiro, visited the Royal Palace and simply enjoyed learning more about one another.

Then we packed up and boarded the train for our 2.5 hour ride to Sevilla. 🚆

Madrid reminded us:

Learn from what was.
Be present with what is.
Believe in what can still be.

Madrid was our Breathe In.
Next stop, Seville. 💃🏽🇪🇸

I’m honored to be recognized by Influential Women as an HR executive and author. Influential Women highlights the leadership, achievements, and stories of women across industries, and I’m grateful to be included among so many women making a meaningful impact.

I’ll continue this work through my HR leadership, my book, Latinas in Corporate, and my involvement with Latinas Rising Up in HR, building stronger workplaces, developing leaders, and creating opportunities for women to be seen, heard, and represented.

Recognition matters, but action creates change. Especially now, we must keep speaking up, opening doors, and building leadership that reflects the world we serve. #hrleadership #latinasinleadership

Happy Saturday, Chingona Community and supporters!

And so it begins...the sharing of the energy, love, and emotion from last night's celebration.

The calls, text messages, emails, and heartfelt words continue to pour in, and my heart is incredibly full. While we don't have our professional photos back just yet, the shots that have already made their way to my phone today have brought the biggest smiles.

Today, especially on Father's Day, I'm feeling a mix of gratitude and emotion. Although my dad is no longer with me in physical form, he is always with me in spirit. I know he was there last night, surrounded by so many amazing family members, friends, community leaders, activists, and supporters who believe in the work we do.

And then there was the moment of all moments...sharing the evening with Dolores Huerta, a true icon whose presence made an unforgettable night even more meaningful.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who believes in our mission, our purpose, and most importantly, the women we serve.
More to come.

Stay Chingona ❤️✨
