Osaka has been extremely hot these days. How is the weather where you are? I hope you and your family are all doing well. I recently posted a reel with our wonderful memories together. ✨It’s premiere day!!✨ #OperationAunties is streaming NOW on @watchallblk and I couldn’t let this moment pass without honoring part of the journey. The first photo takes me back to the start of my scripted television career at BET, working as a PA on Season 4 of Mara Brock Akil’s “The Game”. I had the honor of working with a dream team cast and crew on the network’s comeback season @iamwendyraquel was magnetic, a leader on and off set, and always a light! ✨ Years later, I had the privilege of attending the 2014 BronzeLens Women Superstars Luncheon, where Wendy was honored for her contributions to entertainment. I was just proud to be in the room. In 2020, I returned to Bronzelens as an Alum, awarded Best Southern Short Documentary for my film “Watching The Storm”. And now as Wendy makes her Directorial Debut I’m incredibly proud to stand beside her as an Executive Producer on a film that reflects so much of what we value and to share this moment with a fellow HBCU Alumna makes it even more meaningful. From pre-production to post, and through every creative detail, it was a gift to build this alongside Wendy from the earliest stages, with my fellow EP & Partner @latishafortune and our brilliant Writer/EP TJ Ali @galleryville. Huge thanks to our 1st AD/Co-Producer @directoralg for helping us pull off such an ambitious shoot schedule with care and precision. And to the most talented Editor I know @dnowell_edits for making this entire film shine! The trust, the collaboration, the planning…it all shows up on screen! 🙌🏾✨ Working on this project was more than a professional milestone; it was a creative partnership built on purpose and intention. We shot this film in just 10 days, but the heart behind it was years in the making! Your path may not make sense in the moment. But if you keep showing up, one day it will!
