Good times. Good people. Good year.

2024 was insane, I took my first long road trip, I moved back to New England in my own place, I got a new job with new opportunities, got reconnected with family I haven’t seen in a while. I learned some shit about myself. I still have a lot left to learn, too. Took some fun trips. Even though there were plenty of ups, there were also a few downs, but what’s cool about those is that I still got back up and kept running. And I think that’s the important thing.
Thank you to 2024, for all its ups and downs, and here’s to 2025. Let it be full of new opportunities and new life lessons.

In 2019 I came out of a period of depression and semi reclusiveness. I had written and begun to record loads of new music in that time and decided I owed it to myself to release it properly.

Before that, I had toured only once in my life properly, and that was with @julienrbaker on her Sprained Ankle tour.

When she and I toured together back then I didn’t actually have music out other than just a couple of songs recorded in my room…but I had lots of songs to play live, and Julien’s audiences were always so amazingly warm, receptive and kind.

I released Creatures as a single towards the end of 2019 and was surprised anyone cared.

In the wake of that one single (and the subsequent album inspired by one of the lyrics in Creatures) I’ve toured the UK, Europe and the US with nearly all my favourite artists, and had the absolute honour of playing with Julien multiple times along the way. To see her show in its current form feels like a real celebration of years of work, and it’s not lost on me how lucky I am to have been along for the ride.

I’m so grateful to my past self for just believing in myself enough to put it all out there, and take my songwriting a little more seriously (not too much you understand) - just enough to know that I needed to get out of bed and do it for myself… and that it would pay off because I’d get to play so many awesome shows, and I’d get to do this tour with Julien and her incredible band and crew. Really I hope this story might inspire anyone currently in the same boat I was to JUST DO THE THING!

Julien is someone that means a lot to me and I’m so grateful she had me on these shows. I feel very lucky to have gotten to play to her audiences again. I’ve never felt more understood by an audience as I do Julien’s audiences. Sincerely.
