POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Think of any leader throughout history, ancient or modern who people venerate.

What do they all have in common? Their reigns were temporary, and no matter the impact they left, someone else always came along to reverse the work they had done.

Even the politicians who actually care for the people are limited in their ability to make change by the length of their term or workings of their opponents. And their promises are dependent upon the hope that the opposition will work with them. It usually never happens.

Political solutions of any kind are a false god.

So, we must look to the only permanent solution, Jesus Christ.

What is repeated so often in the Book of Mormon? If ye keep my commandments ye shall prosper in the land. If ye keep not my commandments ye will be cut off from my presence.

Mass conversion to Christ and the baptism of hundreds of thousands of Americans or even millions into the one and only true and and apostolic church, the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Is the only hope for this country.

Choose wisely Mormon boy.

Physical fitness is crucial to Gods plan.

So often we place heavy emphasis on the aspects of the word of wisdom that ban specific drinks or ingredients. We forget the word of wisdom is an all encompassing commandment to take care of your body.

For men, those who hold the priesthood we must also hold ourselves to a higher standard in this aspect. The day will come when violent persecutions may and will rage against the church and its members. We must be prepared to defend those we love, to defend our religion, our homes and everything else we hold dear. If you struggle to walk up the stairs, if your mile time is not sub 10 minutes, you’re putting your family at risk and are nothing more than a walking liability in an emergency.

And for all members, take care of your body, keep it healthy, it is a temple, Honor the spirit within it.

Be fit, be strong, be prepared.

Long live Zion.

When we’re weary, the Savior does not stand at a distance. He draws near. Waiting for us to ask for His help and comfort.

Isaiah prophesied of Jesus Christ as the Suffering Servant—the Deliverer who would bear our griefs and carry our sorrows. He came not only to open the prison, but to enter into our pain and redeem us through His love.

“The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary.” —Isaiah 50:4

Whatever you’re carrying, you can turn to Christ. His kindness endures, His invitation is open to all, and He offers healing and peace to those who come unto Him. (See Isaiah 53:4–5; 54:8, 10; 55:1; 57:15–19.) I can think of many times I’ve turned to my Savior to heal my heart and soul. I’ve lost many close to me and needed Him. I’ve struggled with my own faults that have gotten in my way hurting my own marriage. But Christ has always been there to comfort and guide me.

This week, as we studied Isaiah 50–57, did you consider: What does the Savior carry with you—and what word of hope can you offer someone who is weary?

“Let it be a little thing to you, O house of Israel, to serve your God.” —2 Nephi 25:23 because it should be as hard as breathing in our lives to choose to serve God and follow his commandments.

“For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost.” — 1 Nephi 10:19

There is so much more to discover if we are willing to believe.

God has never stopped being a God of revelation. He has revealed His word through prophets, ancient scripture, and the power of the Holy Ghost. And He promises that those who diligently seek Him can receive greater understanding.

The Bible and the Book of Mormon both testify of Jesus Christ. Together, they remind us that God’s word is not limited to one people, one nation, or one period of history.

Think about how much we have yet to learn. How many mysteries of God have yet to be unfolded? How much truth are we missing simply because we are unwilling to believe that God has more to reveal?

Faith opens the door to greater understanding. The Holy Ghost helps us recognize truth, and through sincere prayer, study, and a willingness to listen, we can come closer to Jesus Christ.

There is so much more if we are willing to believe, seek, and receive.

God is not finished speaking. Are we willing to listen?

Created by God, called by name, and entrusted with a purpose. Isaiah 43:7 reminds us that our identity and our work can point beyond ourselves—to His glory. May we live with faith, serve our families and neighbors, and stand ready to do good.

God never said His word would be limited to one book.

In 2 Nephi 29, the Lord warns of a day when people would say, “A Bible! A Bible! We have got a Bible,” and reject the idea that God could give more of His word.

But the Lord responds with a powerful question: “Wherefore murmur ye, because that ye shall receive more of my word?”

The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It does not replace the Bible. It stands alongside it, testifying that Jesus is the Christ and that God has spoken to His children in more than one nation.

And the message of 2 Nephi 29 goes even further: God has spoken to many nations, and their words will also come forth. We should never fear receiving more truth from God.

If God has more to say, I want to hear Him.

Joseph Smith grew up amid intense religious activity in western New York. Methodists, Presbyterians, Baptists, and other Christians offered competing interpretations of scripture and salvation. His mother and several siblings associated with the Presbyterians, while Joseph felt “somewhat partial to the Methodist sect.”

Joseph’s accounts describe two connected concerns. His 1832 history emphasizes his awareness of sin, desire for forgiveness, and concern that existing churches had departed from New Testament Christianity. His 1838 account emphasizes the conflict among denominations and his desire to know which church he should join.

While reading the Bible, Joseph encountered James 1:5: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God.” Believing that God could answer sincere prayer, he decided to ask Him directly.

Joseph did not enter the grove intending to establish a new religion. He entered seeking forgiveness, wisdom, and direction. According to his testimony, the answer he received became the beginning of something much greater than the question he carried there.

The Restoration began with a young man taking scripture seriously enough to ask God what he should do, and believing that God might actually answer.
