It’s been one week since the last day of our tour with Joyce Manor & Hitmen. Here are some more lush photos by @photosonny ❤️

After a very difficult couple of days, Glasgow was absolutely amazing! So wonderful to rock with hitmen one last time and it was an actual dream come true to join Joyce Manor on stage for Big Lie - one of my favourite songs, and a song that long time followers will know we used to cover live ourselves. Thanks so so much to Barry, JM and their crew for being so welcoming, kind and supportive! 😭🖤 It was also wonderful having our Naomi back finally!

We really appreciate everyone who has been buying our merch to help us out after the van broke down on Thursday and we missed the Dublin gig. We’ve now put all our remaining shirts up on our bandcamp so please do check it out.

There’s more cool photos we haven’t shared yet so I think I’m gonna do a proper end of tour post later this week, but for now here are some wonderful pics from last night by genius and treasured friend @photosonny. Being back at work today was hard, but we’re so grateful to get to do stuff like this. Loads of love FV 🖤

TL;DR we are heartbroken to say we aren’t able to get to Dublin to play with @joycemanorofficial and @rock2forget tonight. We will rejoin the tour in Glasgow tomorrow for the final show. We’ve put some merch up on bandcamp to help make back some of our losses (link in bio)

We’ve been having an amazing time touring with Joyce Manor, but behind the scenes lots of things have been going wrong, and that came to a head on Thursday when our van broke down between Manchester and London. Thanks to the legend Jimmy Cleveland we still made it to the show but it cost a lot, made a 3 hour journey into 7 hours, and meant we arrived without a van and the vast majority of our gear. Joyce Manor, Hitmen and @jaycavalierandtheband very kindly loaned us gear so we could still play the show. Massive thanks to all of them.

Huge thanks also to Ben who stepped in at extremely short notice to fill in for Naomi on bass who has not been very well. Thank you to Hannah for singing BVs with us in London too. And thank you also to Sonny who has been helping in so many ways including putting us all up in London, and documenting all the highs (and the lows).

Sadly, despite our best efforts, we just can’t make it to Dublin to play tonight. We were so excited to play there for the first time, and it’s brutal to miss one of only five gigs on this run. We’re all absolutely gutted. Sorry to anyone who was looking forward to seeing us and we hope to come back very soon.

On top of the van breaking down, we’ve also had various other bits of bad luck that have made a tour with slim margins for us very costly. Last minute train tickets due to sickness, a van to get us from the side of the motorway into London, taxis to transport us and what gear we could carry around in London, a rental car, hiring another van to get us and our gear to Glasgow, as well as money lost on the cancellation of the ferry to Ireland and back. All of which is to say, we have lovely new shirts designed by @roisinodonnelldraws online now (link in bio) and any sales would be hugely appreciated. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Anyway, see you in Glasgow! We can’t wait.

Clown trio @valleyfortitude @reginaldgaye and @Photosonny bring light and jovility to an increasingly dark and joyless world. Their relentless optimisim reminds us to enjoy every minute like it's our last, to seize whole weeks at a time, and to abandon mirrors in the street.

Bristol was amazing last night. Thanks so much to everyone who got down early to watch us do our thing; and especially if you bought merch. We’re so chuffed to be playing these gigs but touring is v expensive, so we do appreciate everyone who buys a shirt, hat, record or cd. My favourite thing about my home is the way it fits my friends.

They lounge in the studio or squeeze by the dozen around the kitchen table. They sleep on inflatable mattresses and sofas in the living room and they pick their way around the plants on the deck.

Having bands crash at mine after gigs sates my need to host and, as a bonus, lets me enjoy tour-by-proxy if I'm missing it (I'm always missing it).
