Your diaphragm and pelvic floor do a LOT of the work when it comes to breathing.

Your neck and upper chest muscles are supposed to help, too, but when we rely on them too much, they’re working overtime alllllllllll day long which ~can~ contribute to tension through your neck and shoulders.

The goal isn’t to stop using those muscles, it’s to let your diaphragm do its job so your neck doesn’t have to do so much of the heavy lifting.

Oh hey did we mention we’re throwing a party next weekend? It’d be, like, cool if you wanted to swing by but, like, no pressure, it’s chill.

Wow—what a blast! 🎉

A huge thank you to the Kerns Neighborhood Association for all the time, energy, and behind-the-scenes work they poured into making this day happen for our community. The Kerns Neighborhood Picnic was such a magical evening, we can’t wait for next year!

Neighbors struck up conversations over ice cream. Local businesses and organizations came out to share what they do, offer goodies, and meet the people they serve. Kids ran around with paint on their hands while live music and laughter filled the park.

It was such a great opportunity for neighbors, businesses, and community groups to connect, share stories, and make memories together. Events like this remind us why we love living and working in Kerns—and how lucky we are to be part of it.

If you aren’t following @kernspdx yet, what are you waiting for?? What would our neighborhood be without them?

Here’s to more moments like this, and to the people who make them possible. ❤️
