What happens when girls are given the space to be seen, heard, and inspired? 💭 On Saturday, we brought our athletes together for "Inside the Game", a powerful conversation with women in sport sharing their journeys, challenges, and the realities of building a career in this space. There were honest conversations about challenges, moments that made them laugh, and a lot of quiet “that’s exactly how I feel” moments too. This is why we do it. Not just for performance, but for understanding, confidence, and helping them see what’s actually possible for them in sport. So grateful to our speakers for showing up the way you did! The girls took more from that than you probably realise 🤍

🌟 Reflecting on an unforgettable experience at the @thebaduway Black Women in Sport Summit – April 3rd 🌟 What an empowering and uplifting night! 🙌🏾 I had the honor of attending the BADU Black Women in Sport Summit, and wow, what an experience. Being surrounded by incredible Black women who are breaking barriers in sport was truly refreshing. The space was filled with so much energy, passion, and solidarity as we shared our journeys, discussed challenges, and worked together to create long-lasting change in the industry. ✊🏾 The conversations were powerful, focused on making sports more inclusive and equitable for Black women. It was inspiring to see so many voices uniting to drive that change forward! 💬💡 A huge thank you to the BADU team for creating such a meaningful platform where Black women can feel seen, heard, and empowered. Moments like these remind me why these spaces are essential. 🙏🏾 It was a privilege to be a panelist alongside such amazing Black women in sport—truly an inspiring experience. I left feeling connected, motivated, and ready to contribute to the future of Black women in sport. Here’s to more moments like these where we continue to amplify our voices and push for change! 💪🏾✨ A special shoutout to @frostyrmf for connecting me to BADU years ago—networking really does unlock endless possibilities! 🔑 #BlackWomenInSport #Empowerment #Inclusion #DiversityInSport #BADU2025 #UpliftEachOther #SportsLeadership #BaduBlackWomenInSportSummit #ChangeMakers #ElevatingVoices

Just starting will take you farther than you think🔆 A little over five years ago, I had this “silly” idea about reading more. I realized I lacked the discipline to finish a book outside of what was required in school, yet I had this growing obsession with language and experiencing God informally. At the same time, there was this cultural drive to “make it out the hood”—I’m still not sure what that means exactly, but I wanted to become all I could be, I guess 😂. In the midst of all these thoughts, I composed a tweet, inviting others to join the journey. At around 2:30 AM, TheGhettoBookClub (or The Get-a-Book Club—whichever you prefer) was born. A few months later, the world was hit with the devastating pause of Covid. During such a deeply lonely time, I found myself surrounded by amazing people from 15 countries, all on a shared mission to read. None of us knew what the world would become, or how lonely it could get, but in those quiet moments, we found each other. Fast forward a few years, 18 countries, and over 350 people later. I’ve had the privilege of sharing intimate moments of transformation and growth, navigating the raw realities of life, all while deepening my most important relationship—with the Lord. Last week, I spent time traveling around the country delivering keynotes and connecting with incredible people. One moment that blew me away was at a small, intimate event with @tcsnetwork, where I looked around and saw four generations of the Book Club in the same room. It might not seem like a big deal, but to me, it was surreal—one of my friends from Toronto, who’s now living in the UK, was there. That just amazes me. Community is so powerful, man. I’m sharing this to remind you of the beautiful intricacies of a movement moment. It’s worth taking action on the things you feel deeply about. Maybe that idea you have—the need for it in the world has reached its time to be born. Stay creating, stay arriving. 💌
