I have always dreamed of this moment. 46 hours dancing in the BJC, one weekend, supporting one cause, each person wishing with the very same thing—an end to childhood cancer. I am so fortunate to represent Penn State Club Crew in the most amazing weekend of my life.
Last year I reached a time where I felt my lowest. Even though I felt so much hurt, I gained the strongest sense of life outside of my own. I returned back to school, joined a sport I had never heard of, faced great challenges getting back on my feet, grew close with my best friends and teammates, fell in love with rowing, and most importantly, I fell even deeper in love with THON.
THON has always been so special to me, and something that motivated me to stay at Penn State. I am so lucky to serve as Penn State Club Crew’s Family Relations Chair and build a close connection with our two THON families this year. To Jaxon and August, you both inspire me beyond words could describe, and are both stronger and braver than I could ever be. Thank you to the Crabills and Sistos for sharing your lives with me, and making such a meaningful impact in my life.
Love has the capability to bring thousands of students and alumni together for one single cause, and millions of stories that are able to be shared about the weight of cancer and the loss of the battle. No matter what weight I could have on my shoulders, it will never amount to the pain that childhood cancer holds.
My heart is so full, and I am so lucky for all the amazing support, love, kind wishes, and motivation during this entire journey. I could not have done it without my friends, family, team, DRCMs, THON volunteers, and sorority. I love each and every one of you more than words could explain. I would dance every weekend for the rest of my life if it meant coming one step closer to a future without childhood cancer.
I THON so that when a child grows up, they can find a sport in their senior year that saves them and allows them to find themselves. FTK Forever 🤟🎗️🫶💃
