🗑SOLD🗑 •70s Ahti Taskinen Brown Corduroy Easy Convertible Sofa Manufactured by Myrskylä Oy Price 300€ Ask For Shipping Cost Dimensions L 130cm H 70cm D 87cm Opened 185cm The First time Ahti presented a sketch of this model to Niilo Salminen, the director of Myrskylä Oy. He invited a newly hired sales manager to evaluate the model “if you start making that kind of thing here, I`ll quit right away,” he said. Niilo ignored the sales manager and started manufacturing the prototypes. The Easy sofa was first shown at Habitare-fair in 1970. Sales manager was hesitant about it at first, but at the fair he was playing with the opening and closing mechanism eagerly. After seeing the public reaction he went to call the factory “we need a dozen more of these”. Myrskylä Oy built its own factory for Easy sofa and other Easy products and advertised it as furniture for teens, but Easy went bankrupt after a few years. There have been at least 2 or 3 different revives of this model, but this one is the real and first designed by Ahti Taskinen and manufactured by Myrskylä Oy. Easy sofa is really a classic and still loved to this day especially by finnish 70’s kids.
