Writing true life

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

When a woman you admire, respect and love says yes to your work in the world …

You do a happy dance! (Yep, that’s me right now 💃!)

I am so touched, honored, excited and grateful to be in conversation with these inspiring women as a part of my new free series ~

Trusting the Mystery: Soulful conversations with 12 midlife women on navigating life’s most meaningful (and terrifying) transitions.

Their courage, vulnerability, and truth-telling is real leadership.

If you’d like to listen to their stories of transition and all they’ve traversed (and still are!) ~ I’d be so happy to share them with you!

Link to reg is in my bio / comments.

Using my Portuguese study books + my mom’s roasting pan for a laptop riser … it works!

I’m totally nerve-cited to start interviewing the women for my new series called, Trusting the Mystery: a soulful conversation series with midlife women on navigating life’s most meaningful (and terrifying) transitions.

Today, I have the honor of talking with @lauriewagner ~ she’s been my writing teacher and sooooo many others in The Wild Family around the world.

Can’t wait to hear her wisdom and experiences with creating courageous changes.

Laurie's interview will be released in November. Send me a DM or leave a comment, if you want to get on the list to be notified about the series.

Favorite thing when I’m prepping for an upcoming retreat is to paint name cards for the tables where we will write and make art. 💫🌈 Excited for our Taos retreat in a couple weeks! And our Mexico retreats in December and January!

I just got back from my 4th Wild Writing Retreat with @lauriewagner & @jenbreenbainbridge at the always beautiful @stowellakefarm.

✨These retreats are magical, and I can’t recommend them enough!

One woman on the retreat described the experience as being the opposite of social media - it’s all about being real and sharing struggles & challenges which you share when you read your writing within the supportive Wild Writing group ✍️

There’s no writing experience needed. No editing. A very lowkey yet transformative experience!

This is your sign to try Wild Writing. If you’re interested in trying it I’d love to start an in person group here in Chevy Chase!💜⬇️

A hidden oasis.

An afternoon gathering under big trees.

Who doesn't love being read to?

Especially the poetry of Liz Rosner.

What a treat!

Our SoulCollage® and Wild Writing workshop in Alameda sold out within hours, so we’ve added a second weekend on May 9–10 for those who didn’t get a chance to register.

We’d love to have you join us. You’ll find all the details below.

One of the instructions that Rachel Maddow and Heather Cox Richardson gave us after Trump was elected was to gather, to circle up, to stay close. No matter what we were doing, they said; knitting with others, telling stories, playing music, discussing the world, making plans, cooking. Community is everything, they said. Pull others into the circle.

So that's what we've been doing. ❤️
Please join me and @lauriewagner for a once a year gathering at Laurie's house in Alameda, CA. where 15 of us will spend the weekend doing the deep and beautiful work of SoulCollage® and Wild Writing.

The workshop will run over the weekend of May 9th and 10th, 2026. It's an exceptional place to lose yourself in the creative process. We'll work under the trees and relax around the fire pit, alternating between Wild Writing and SoulCollage® -the intuitive collage process that I have been leading at our creative retreats over the past year.

These two practices are both deeply intuitive, restorative and loose. You don't have to be a writer or an artist to join us, just someone who wants to connect with yourself, and with others in a creative and juicy way.

Here are the details:
📍Location: 27 Powers Ct. Alameda, CA.
📅Dates: Saturday, May 9th & May 10th, 2026
⏰Times: 9:30-4:30pm each day
💵Price: $395 for the weekend

from calstrsdivest4palestine:

PALESTINE needs you— yes, YOU!!!

Corporate greed facilitates ethnic cleansing. Let’s cut off the money - $30 million in Israeli bonds and millions more in weapons and spyware - for one of the BIGGEST DIVESTMENT campaigns.

CalSTRS, California state teachers’ retirement system, is holding their board meeting in Sacramento this Thursday the 29th at 9am. We are calling on LOCAL FOLKS to show up in person, and teachers, CalSTRS members and beneficiaries, to speak or call in.

It’s simple:
1) EMAIL THE BOARD before Wednesday Jan 28 at board@calstrs.com or use the auto-link by visiting calstrsdivest.org
2) Use our ONLINE TOOLKIT to call in or speak in person: tinyurl.com/calstrs-board
