Busy season is coming…your routine doesn’t have to be perfect, you just have to keep showing up. Here are a few reminders for staying consistent when life gets a little chaotic.

A little gym etiquette goes a long way. 🖐️

We love you, just don’t make us send in The Big Hand. 😂

Keep your space clean, put things back where they belong, and help us keep Backyard the place we all love.

HYROX BOSTON 2026

The goal race. The one we set our sights and minds on a little over a year ago.

When we watched Backyard athletes take on Boston in 2025, we knew we weren’t quite ready. So we made a promise to ourselves: Boston 2026 would be THE race.

And last Friday, we did just that. With an 8-minute PR from Phoenix earlier earlier this year!

We took everything we learned from PHX and everything the NYC heat threw at us and went back to work. Back to basics. Rebuilding, retraining, physically AND mentally. We increased our running, increased our weights, and most importantly, increased our confidence. We stopped wondering if we could do this and started believing we could. And it showed.

Our biggest improvement? THE RUNS! Every single one, including getting in and out of the Roxzone. We gave up a little time on burpees and lunges but gained some back on wall balls.

Was it perfect? Nope. Was it progress? ABSOLUTELY.

Racing in your hometown brings a little extra pressure, but it also brings something pretty incredible... YOUR PEOPLE. The cheering sections, the signs, the familiar faces, and hearing our names along the course gave us more than we can put into words. ❤️

So what’s next?
For the rest of 2026, we’re getting back to enjoying all the activities we love without a training schedule running our lives. S is going to figure out those fatigued calves, J is giving that Achilles some love, and we’ll both be waiting for that Miami early access code while crossing our fingers for 🇫🇷. Come January, we’ll be ready to build again.

To our coaches, friends, families, and the entire @backyard.bos community, THANK YOU. For showing up, cheering loudly, following this crazy journey, and believing in us even when we weren’t quite sure how to believe in ourselves. You have no idea how much that means.

A little over a year ago, Boston felt like a big, scary goal. Today, it’s a reminder of what happens when you keep showing up, doing the work, and trusting the process.

We’re not the fastest out there, and we never needed to be. We’re just two women who decided to see what we were capable of.

Don’t make us say “talk to the hand.” 😏✋

Just a few house rules. We promise, it’s all in the name of keeping Backyard the best place to show up. 🫶

Disclaimer: the hand is mostly harmless. 😘

I’d be lying to you if I said that I’ve enjoyed training for @hyroxworld or that it’s been fun but major shoutout to @backyard.bos and our @fpmovement boston community for making the workouts and shared miles that much more enjoyable. i am doing my first solo HYROX this winter and I am scared af!!! (honestly didn’t even want to tell anyone!) here we go i guess!! but i know it’s not about what you’re doing, where you are, it’s about who you’re with — it’s incredible what we can accomplish when we are surrounded by humans pushing us to be great 🧡
