Exactly one week ago our new semester began their professional dance program and no one had to start alone 🩰

Every new student becomes the mentee of an older student — someone who already knows what that first day in the Villa feels like takes them under their wing.

This is what a supportive community looks like for us, not just in theory :)

The curtain has fallen — and what a finale 🏛️✨

Three years of technique, dedication, and growing together came together in one unforgettable night. Our Class of 2026 showed on stage end of September what hard work, courage, and real artistic maturity can achieve — and the audience rose to celebrate it.

Dear graduates: we are incredibly proud of what you accomplished in this performance — and in the three years before it. Villa Balance was your home, and now you carry it with you out into the world.

A special thank you also goes to our new third-year students, who danced in the choreographies and brought them to life — beautifully done!

Here’s to what comes next. 🎭

VACAN‘T

————————————————
In search of our place within a system that measures our worth by our performance, and our performance by our endurance, we try to adapt, to fit in. But where does fitting in end and losing ourselves begin
This is the central question of my piece VACAN’T. It is a question I faced myself when I chose to leave my studies behind to pursue a childhood dream, giving up the place I had worked hard to earn on a socially recognised path.
Throughout the development of the piece, it was inspiring to express my thoughts and feelings through movement and to see how the same movements gained an individual interpretation through each dancer. „Are you scared of growing old? Having dystopian pictures in your mind of yourself living grey days, too old to be joyful?
I am. But I don’t want to be.

In the last few weeks I worked with 6 amazing dancers, establishing a way to create a feeling of hope and positivity as well as a beautiful picture of the olden years full of life and enjoyment“
