POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Last week’s movie night was a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who brought something in to share. We had a good mix of films and some nice conversations throughout the night.

It was also our last movie night at @two.studios. Starting next month, Short Film Movie Night is moving to @theshopnola at the CAC, the same space where we hold Script Workshop. Same night, same time. We’ll still meet on the third Wednesday of every month at 7pm. One home for everything now.

Big thank you to @two.studios for hosting our movie nights and giving the club room to grow. We’ve really appreciated having the space.

Next up is Script Workshop on September 2nd at 7pm at @theshopnola, 900 Camp St, on the third floor of the CAC. Bring something you’re working on, or just come hang out

Tada! First look teaser for what VARtv will be broadcasting starting September 18th. So many great submissions so far and more teasers to come. There’s still plenty of room at the inn for more fun art and music videos and docs and short films etc etc and if you aren’t a maker but want to watch, sign up! Once VAR covers operational costs contributors get paid, but in the mean time we are just gonna keep doing it anyway, you know because this is a hoot and half. Artists featured in this first teaser are @roach.motel_ @justflowers444 @laweez8 @dadwoman and me as max headroom.

This week we had several people bring in work to share, which made for a really fun mix of films and some great conversations throughout the night. It was also nice to see so many new faces come out and such a good turnout from the community.

Thanks to everyone who came, and to everyone who put something up on the screen. It was really nice seeing people stick around afterward to talk films, ask questions, and support each other’s work.

Looking ahead, August 5th is the deadline for Community Short Lab treatments. I’ll be posting the treatment guidelines FAQ in the link in bio over the next few days so anyone who wants to participate and read their treatment to the room will know exactly what to prepare.

Big thanks to @two.studios for hosting us.
