POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Folks with access to IQIYI and Tencent Video will get a chance to look at Ashton Chen this Friday for the release of Detective Chen 2, following up on Chen's own 2022 flick. Set in the turbulent Republican era in 1920s China, the film sees Chen reprising his role which now follows the story of our titular protagonist as he's framed for the murder of a gang leader and pairs up with a duo of cohorts to help clear his name.

The film also stars Collin Chou, Liu Tianzuo and Huang Qiao.

In all of the eleven years I've kept up with @artschooldropouts, a hold a few of their shorts quite favorably, including BROKEN, which director @thatguyjoeymin granted me with an early look at when he came out to Queens to work on another prospective kung fu comedy short one evening back in 2021.

@ajkick101 and @kickitlikecass have a distinct chemistry they share when they perform together - akin to watching Yuen Biao and Cynthia Rothrock in #RightingWrongs or even @fabiengorchon and @iamlohanbuson in their performances together over the years via Z-Team. It can't be stated enough how explosive they are on screen, and how imperative it is that @artschooldropouts gets to craft something together to keep these performers proliferated and well in the spotlight.

Follow ASDO on Instagram and YouTube and check out their work.

*Hat tip to Joey for the clip!
