Skipperette Showcase 2026 💙✨

We are honored to announce that this years Layla Julien scholarship was presented to Makenna Seifert. This scholarship is in honor of our 2022 Alumni, Layla Julien, who passed away December 13th, 2022 from cancer. The Layla Julien Scholarship is awarded to a senior dancer who exemplifies the inclusivity and leadership that Layla herself displayed during her years on MDT. Kenna is so well deserving of this scholarship and we are so grateful for her time on MDT. Congratulations, Kenna 💛

To ours seniors, we are so incredibly proud of each of you 🤍 They came together to lead a fundraiser in support of the Layla Julien Foundation, and it meant so much to present that donation to the Juliens at our showcase. Their hearts, leadership, and compassion have left such a mark on this team. We are beyond grateful for this senior class and will miss them more than we can say as they step into their next chapter.

As we near the end of our 2025–2026 season, we can’t help but reflect on what a truly special year it’s been. The passion, grit, and dedication every dancer has poured into this season has been nothing short of inspiring. We are endlessly proud of our Skipperettes 💙

What a heart-warming, successful event!🧡

BIG thank you to the @laylajulienfoundation for organizing their annual fundraiser at @lifetime.crosstown

100% of CBC proceeds went towards the Layla Julien Foundation which builds awareness for pediatric brain cancer🧠

Thank you to our friends at @10000drops for supplying Lokal Pickled Pepper Vodka, and to @lovejoysbrand for supplying their delicious bloody mary mix to pair it with!✨

Remembering Layla 🦋
We miss her every single day, yet we feel her around us always. Her fun-loving spirit, bright smile, and pure joy left a lasting imprint on our hearts all six of us. She showed us how to live with laughter, love big, and find light even in the hardest moments. Forever missed, forever felt, forever loved.
