happy “Bullets” release day ❤️‍🩹 i remember being heartbroken and on the bus when i wrote this one. I opened up GarageBand on my iPhone, pulled up the guitar sound, and recorded the jankiest demo vocal into my cheap 7/11 headphone mic. It was exhilarating, and cathartic. I was sad, and also happy. Confused, but also so so sure of what was coming outta me. (that’s what she said) anyway… I’ve always had a hard time with love. And while I’ve been heartbroken by people leaving.. the greatest pain I have felt is leaving the ones that tried to love me. I’m 26, and learning to love again. But I feel like God helped me write this song. He may have actually just written it for me, and I was so sad at the time of writing this, that I had no more thoughts to cloud the creativity. Just an open heart, and an open journal. I think that’s why it felt so good to write it. But also, I finished this song with some of the people I love the most, last summer. thank you to @pierre.postal and @http.sboothy for helping me finish this song and offering your creative genius.. thank you to @pierre.postal @songswithfriends @samjacksonwillows for bringing this song to life with your incredible production. Thank you @pierre.postal for your vocal production that I’m so lucky to have, and thank you @samjacksonwillows for mixing this bad boy.
