HAS FALL ARRIVED WHERE YOU LIVE?

Or are you still sweating it out? 💦

For 55 years, I was an Upper Midwest girl. Fall meant sweaters, jackets and layers—and enjoying them quickly because winter was coming whether you were ready or not!

Now that I’m a Florida resident, I’ve discovered there’s a whole swath of the country where fall is basically SUMMER IN DIFFERENT COLORS. 😂

And it’s made me rethink what actually makes an outfit FEEL like fall.

To dress like fall without the extra bulk, I pair boots with shorts, wear fall colors in super-light fabrics and use accessories to create depth and texture.

A few more of my tricks:

✨ SWAP THE FABRICATION, NOT THE SILHOUETTE. Think a halter top—but in suede or velvet instead of a summery fabric.

✨ ADD JUST A TOUCH OF FALL TEXTURE. Instead of a full faux-fur jacket, try a denim jacket with faux-fur cuffs. You get the feeling of fall without all the warmth.

✨ CHOOSE TOPS THAT DO THE WORK FOR YOU. Look for interesting shapes, draping, asymmetry, texture or architectural details that create the visual interest you’d normally get from layering.

The biggest thing I’m learning?

🍁 You don’t have to dress WARMER to dress for fall. You just need to CHANGE THE CUES.

This is my second @lazaroleather bag, & I don’t know which one I love more ☁️ This one is the Tala Large Tote in cowhide, & every bag is one of a kind, which you can feel when you experience it in person. Might skip the diaper bag and use this instead 🤷🏼‍♀️
