And here she is! Verawood House! 🎉 No. 2 in our trio of beautiful community mosaics for new homes in the London Borough of Waltham Forest! Hundreds of handmade ceramic tiles bursting with colour, character, humour and personality, all created by local people. Every tile tells a story, from treasured memories and local history to William Morris, Lloyd Park and the wonderfully imaginative minds of our makers! We had the pleasure of working with children from Winns Primary School and fantastic groups at Priory Court Community Centre, including Bees Knees sewing group, Stone Soup, autistic young adults and Gentle Arts with Sonita. We also joined the St George’s Day celebrations, making tiles with older residents, the local ward councillor and many more enthusiastic makers! There’s something magical about bringing so many different hands, ages and ideas together into one permanent artwork. And we love imagining people returning years later with their children and grandchildren, proudly declaring, “That’s my tile!” A huge thank you to everyone who took part, and to London Borough of Waltham Forest and Hill Group UK for making community creativity part of these new homes. Tulipwood House was No. 1, Verawood House is No. 2, and Cottonwood House will complete the trio! Three buildings, three unique mosaics, and a little bit of community magic for everyone to enjoy, 24/7! ❤️ #VerawoodHouse #ArtyfaceCommunityArt #WalthamForest #CommunityArt #publicart

As we mark Black History Month this October, we're celebrating the strength, resilience, and contributions of Black individuals, families, and communities who have helped shape our society. Children in care come from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. Foster carers who understand, reflect, and celebrate a child's identity can make a real difference in helping them feel safe, valued, and proud of who they are. We are always looking for foster carers from diverse backgrounds to provide loving and supportive homes for children and young people who need them. You don't need to have all the answers before making an enquiry. Fostering is a journey, and you'll receive training, guidance and support every step of the way. Could you help create a brighter future for a child? 📞 Get in touch today for a friendly, no-obligation conversation about fostering with your local council. Speak with one of our Fostering Advisors on 020 84963437 or visit our link in bio ❤️ 🖤 💚 💛 A smiling Black family interacting on a sofa with text above reading: The reality is you're exactly who fostering needs.

💛 Could you make a difference to a child in your community? This week, to celebrate the launch of the national fostering campaign, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Minister for Children and Families to Local Community Fostering, where he met some of our brilliant foster carers and joined us in speaking to local people about fostering. There’s no time like now to find out more about fostering. You could have something really special to offer a child or young person in your community, helping them feel safe, supported and able to thrive. If fostering is something you’ve ever thought about, why not start a conversation? You might be more ready than you think. 💬 Speak to one of our friendly fostering advisors on 020 8496 3437, or visit our link in bio to find out more and complete an expression of interest.
