From boat anchor to freshly rebuilt!

Final touches are underway. Still very happy with how the engine turned out and even more proud/impressed with myself.

Special thanks to @928fabrication for welding work

What you’re about to witness has been a long…long time coming. Here’s a picture of the straw that broke the camels back.

After purchasing a fairly mint 1990 Toyota Pickup from my wife’s aunt a few years ago, it’s finally being rebuilt. This was my dream truck in high school and nine years later she’s mine. Timing guides finally broke, timing chain ate into the cover, and I’m sitting at 225k original miles. Complete rebuild will include @lc_engineering master builder kit with metal guide rods, dual row timing chain, and some other goodies.

Shout out to the Toyota guru himself @staten911. You’ll be seeing him a lot!🙏🏼

A little dust on the bottle. A lot of miles on the Toyota. 🤠

Both classics from 1995. One’s still making music, the other’s still making memories.

31 years later, our old Hilux is right where it belongs. 🇿🇦

About to start a go fund me for @zayn_crabtree so we can finally build this Toyota right 🤣 if anyone wants to donate parts to his cause I’ll do install videos💪🏻🤣 I think we throw a gnarly @redline_cams in it and make this baby chop 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼🤟🏼

The engine crossmember has gone through a lot of iteration. Ultimately due to the raised engine, this is literally the only shape that it could take to fit under the hood. Form is truly following function on this one.
