No importa la edad, no importa el momento en el que estés…
tu cuerpo sabe exactamente qué hacer cuando recibe Barras.

This is Laura Cortes, Alumna from Class of 1995!

"Although I did not graduate from CNG, the greatest impact I have from school is my passion for writing. It all began during second grade when our teacher made us keep a daily journal, which in fact I still have. The intention of this journal was to develop writing skills through the narrative of daily events, but I felt inspired in a different way... my writings soon became poems. This was my very first experience writing poetry. I learned how to write philosophical essays and perfectionate my poem writing. I even named my 100-poem book, “The Unwritten Poems”.

I studied Product Design and Development at San Francisco State University and graduated Cum Laude August 2001. When I moved back home, I ended up working at an advertisement company, which gave me grounds to leave and create my own firm: La Compañía Más Creativa. For 20 years I have owned a Visual, Graphic and Writing Communications Firm where I have had the chance to work with many important companies, review their brands, design logos, analyze their written communication policies, create POP campaigns, but mostly create a space for my personal writing.

10 years ago, I woke up in the middle of the night and started writing poetry again. In 2016 my poems changed their course, and I released my first EP music album. I became a songwriter. During these past 7 years, I have released another single, and last June I released my first full 10 song album: “Insane (atomic/bomb)”. As a mom of two amazing boys who are in 8th and 3rd, I must say I feel proud of pursuing my childhood dreams of writing. I began to publish my poems, my poems became my songs, and I do hope people get to listen to them, feel inspired, and follow their dreams. Visit my company’s website (www.lacompanimascreativa.com), and listen to my new album!”

We love your music Loli and wish you the best with all of your entrepreneurships! Thank you for showing us we can pursue all of our dreams!
