Happiest of born days to the luvlee LeLee! @le.msgardere, we don’t get to hang out a lot. But when we do, the love is still there and it is like no time has passed. Love you mucho and I wish you a day of blessings! ✨💜 Pics: Bobby’s 40th 2009-ish, VIP at one of the 2011 W2A San Jose shows (I circled us by the stage with our fists up✊🏾✊🏽), Bay Prince cruise party weekend last August, Jada Pinkett’s “Worthy” book event earlier this month 🫶🏾🫶🏾

TONIGHT WAS SPECIAL!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our seniors on their special night! The energy at the Pitt Pirates vs Freedom football game was electric, and we’re grateful for the love and support from our family near and far.

Our village truly is unmatched! To our incredible seniors, we’re so proud of you and all your accomplishments on and off the field.

Prince, 🎹 & a 🎤 2016. THE DATES. 3 DAYS NOTICE 🤣 I share this exchange almost every year because it makes me laugh every time.

The conversation with @le.msgardere from the night of February 22, 2016 when I texted her to tell her that Prince was coming to the Paramount on February 25 and that tickets were going on sale February 23. Dude forever had us on our toes because he’d pop up with little notice. We’d be ANNOYED, but we would still be on Ticketmaster and at the shows 😅 He had 2 shows at the Paramount on the 25th.

After a lot of stress and bad words, I was able to get tickets to only the first show via Ticketmaster when they went on sale. BUTT - I got a text when I parked at Paramount for show #1 that a few single tix for show #2 had been released, so I bought one!

I have a lot of emotions associated with this time because the only reason we got these shows when we did is because Denise Matthews (Vanity) passed, and P interrupted his tour stop in Australia to come to the Bay. This week of shows (he had another one at the arena in Oakland on Friday, March 4) would be the last time he graced the Bay with his presence.

It was almost 31 years apart to the day from the first time I saw him (March 3, 1985, Cow Palace) to the last (March 4, 2016, the arena in Oakland)💜 #Prince4Ever

On this this day in 2011, @le.msgardere and I were at the Oakland Arena for the first of 3 Prince shows in 4 days during his 1st Bay Area stop (he came back in spring) of the Welcome2America tour. To say I was in my emotions is an understatement. 🥹💜🫶🏾My feelings are documented in real time on Twitter and Facebook. Sheila E was on the timbales and Carlos Santana was a surprise guest. What a night! I am forever grateful. #Prince4Ever #Welcome2Oakland
