“not beautiful” is a song where I let myself explore my thoughts on existence. I used my favorite Arabic quote as the prompt… maybe we’re not beautiful, maybe we’re just far away.. most beautiful things are not so beautiful when you look more closely. existence is so awe-inspiring, yet, at its essence is a cycle of chaos we don’t fully understand..

I sat down behind @sandibasagic in his warm and peaceful studio in Ljubljana, Slovenia as he began piecing together our collab in a way I’d never seen before. I’ve worked with a hundred producers in my lifetime, but have never seen music made the way Sandi does it — and it was so beautiful.. the way he played around with the placement of each note and rhythm until it was perfect was so cool to watch.. and the lyrics came to me immediately..

to finish off the collab, @igovibes came in and structured the beat around my lyrics, then helped me keep things legal by formant shifting me singing my favorite Arabic quote enough so that it hasn’t yet triggered any copyright claims 🤭

I love this song a lot … and I do think it’s beautiful 🥰 thank you gentlemen for an incredible collab 🙌🏼❤️

Lea, Lea, Lea.. I can’t say enough about you, your talent, your friendship.. the way you supported me through so many moments throughout the past year.. what a blessing you are in my life ❤️

I want to highlight @lea.bole’s incredible artistry because I’ve honestly never felt more beautiful wearing makeup..

some of you may know that I resist makeup as much as possible, so when it came time to create visuals for my album, I knew I needed someone who could make me feel like me..

Lea not only kept my look natural, but somehow made minimal makeup feel fully glamorous.. I literally felt luminous.. which aligned perfectly with my album theme 🌔

to this day, I still have flashbacks to how I felt on shoot day 🧿

Lea, thank you for keeping me aglow ..and also for the much needed “hair check” moment 😜 .. with love always 🥰❤️🧿
