🧡 Wurun Senior Campus 🧡

Yesterday afternoon nearly 150 people gathered at Wurun Senior campus for our first site visit of 2023.

The Wurun Senior Campus is truly an impressive facility, and an exemplar project from aspirations through to planning and delivery. It promotes a new model for vertical schools in tight urban sites that integrate outdoor learning, flexible learning, recreation and gathering spaces throughout.

A big thank you to the staff and students who volunteered their time to give us an insight into the operation of their impressive new facility, as well as representatives from the design team at GHDWoodhead and Grimshaw.

As always, these events are not possible without the support of our amazing sponsor Interface Carpet.

🎶 PEGS Music House 🎶

Yesterday afternoon we visited the Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School Music House. This unique learning facility was full of surprises, with the playful facade of glazed bricks and steel capturing everyone’s attention.

Working together across multiple campuses since 2009, the collaborative and trusting relationship between the educators and architects was clear.

The design was intended to prompt questions from learners. What is a sound wave? Why do these spaces sound different to other rooms in the school? The building itself provides opportunities for students to learn.

Thank you so much to @mcbridecharlesryan and @pegs_insta for sharing your story. We loved being surprised by these joyful learning spaces!
