Valentine’s Day isn’t just about roses and reservations.

It’s a reminder.

A reminder to slow down.
To look across the table.
To say the thing you assume they already know.

Yesterday, I spent the day in a marriage preparation class with my beautiful fiancée: learning, reflecting, pondering hard questions about how we want to build a life together.

Last night, we had dinner with my parents and my brother and his girlfriend.

Two generations.
One table.
A lot of sharing.

Healthy love isn’t flashy.
It’s intentional.
It’s time.
It’s choosing connection when you could choose distraction.

In a world that rewards speed and independence, days like this gently remind me:
Relationships are the real long game.

Grateful for love.
Grateful for family.
Grateful for the work it takes to build something that lasts.

“Before your body changes, your mindset has to.”

I’ve seen it too many times. Someone starts with a solid plan; the workouts, the nutrition, everything lined up. Super motivated.

Then life happens and they miss one workout… and suddenly they’re spiraling, feeling like they failed. (“ I’ll start again on Monday”).

The truth is, it’s not the plan that fails. It’s the inner dialogue that says, “I messed up, so what’s the point? I can’t do this anymore.”

Lasting change happens when you shift the way you speak to yourself.

When you drop the guilt and start practicing self-compassion. Self love.

It’s not about being perfect. It’s about showing up, listening to your body, being disciplined, while being patient with yourself.
