POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

completed my @balanced_body comprehensive Pilates certification this week.

never did I think when taking my first Pilates class in February 2021 that I’d complete 100 reformer classes by late July 2021 & then finish a 500+ hour certification almost exactly 5 years later.

from being a client at @wildlemonstudios since their equipment studio opened in May 2022 (shoutout to Michelle for taking me with you) to my first day of teacher training in January 2023 (slide #3) & then teaching 10+ classes a week with my own clients by 2026. it’s a lot of early mornings, late evenings, & time spent preparing to lead people through movement, but it’s always worth it.

my life in Pensacola is centered around Pilates and its people. It’s changed every aspect of my life from giving my body the strength to try new things, the gift of sharing movement with others, and also sending me some of the greatest friendships I’ll have in this life.

wherever life has taken me the past few years - new places, cities, etc - I always found Pilates. it’s been a constant & I’m looking forward to this next iteration.

Camp Wild Lemon was an experience I can't even really put into words. The feeling of being in a house together for 3 days of connection, laughter, movement and fun was something I will never forget. So grateful for every single person who attended and shared their energy and selves with the group.

I was so excited to prepare nutritious, delicious food for my lemons and fuel the weekend with all the best stuff.

My voice is hoarse from laughing so hard all weekend. What a fantastic way to kick off my 42nd trip around the sun.

We are thrilled to share our April Student of the Month: Leah! Leah has been a consistency queen with us for more than two years (and 400 classes!) - and it shows in her practice. She is a strong, focused, motivated student who is always up for a new challenge and a joy to have in the studio.

In her own words...

"Prior to starting Pilates at Wild Lemon, I was unmotivated to do any sort of physical activity or exercise. I needed an environment that made me feel comfortable, help hold me accountable, and keep me consistent. My doctor recommended I look into Pilates, so I gave Wild Lemon a try as my 2023 resolution.

I have never felt more strength and body awareness thanks to a consistent Pilates routine. I look forward to my classes and leave every class either refreshed or beat up (in a good way, like you have muscles you never knew you had). It’s a total mind, body, and soul practice.

Besides just being happy with the exercise I’m getting, I love that you can truly make Pilates work for you. It’s easy to customize and truly feels like a judgement-free environment. I don’t think I would have stuck with Pilates if I hadn’t been so welcome and comfortable like I am at Wild Lemon.

Q: What are your favorite class styles or instructors at the studios? "I love to mix it up. I’ll try any class once, but I consistently go to reformer, mat, and Pilates plus classes (TRX and chair). I usually just jump in a class that fits with my schedule and am glad that there’s always something different to choose from. No favorites here, but shoutout to my girl, Brandi. She’s been kicking my ass from the beginning. I also love a Kiley surprise because the energy is always high, while Beth destroys my core every time, and Matea has been killing the reformer flows."

Q. What advice would you give to a new student who is intimidated to try Pilates or group fitness classes? "Just try it once! Come with an open mind and communicate your needs with the instructors. They’ll look out for you and make sure you have options. You won’t find a more inclusive and empowering studio!"

Thank you for moving and growing with us, Leah!!
