This is special. I've been working in Canadian media for 25 years. 25 years this year! (Thirty if you count the Whitby Free Press which technically gave me my first printed byline as a high school reporter😊)

Last night, the teams from Chatelaine and FASHION won Gold and Chatelaine also won Silver for Best Branded Content Collaboration at the National Magazine Awards! 🎉

I've never been nominated for any awards for my work, so to win my first time out, and before I move to the U.S. and start again, was a surprise and delight. I'm so grateful.

To win with these two magazines means a lot. I was a FASHION intern in 2001 (peak Y2K!) and I spent the bulk of my office working years as a Chatelaine editor.

To be the editor, part of a big team, that brought these two works to the NMAs was an honour. A labour of love that had me clocking many hours, but that's the job. You put your heart into things that matter to you, that you believe will matter to your audience.

Thanks to Maureen and Liz, Sasha and Carlo, Steven and Cessi and Bobbe and Ashley, Leah, Ingrie and Emily, all the editors who spoke to us for this piece, and the clients repping Dove and Manulife 🎉
