Last weekend we headed to @thebigfeastival with Leal, our Creative Social Media Executive capturing our brilliant chefs doing what they do best.

On stage across the weekend were Kyu Jeon and Duncan Robertson, Tom Barnes, Freddy Bird and Simon Rogan.

One of the greatest joys of our work is having a front-row seat to moments like these - witnessing the creativity and talent of the people we work with, seeing audiences experience it for themselves, and being trusted to help share their stories.

We feel incredibly lucky to work alongside such an inspiring team of people, and even luckier to showcase what they do. A very special weekend ❤️‍🔥

What better place to cook cabbage than in a field full of it?

Great to have Emily @emthenutritionist with us at @OurFarm, picking ingredients straight from the field and turning them into a simple superfood slaw using some of our own preserves and produce.

A reminder that when great ingredients are grown well, they don’t need much.

Full recipe coming soon. Stay tuned…

“This is a life’s work.” Behind the scenes 🥬 with Emily and Simon in the Lakes.

Earlier this month, we brought together @rogan_simon and @emthenutritionist at @ourfarm in Cartmel to celebrate the Year of the Cabbage.

What started as a shared appreciation for one of the most humble ingredients became a brilliant meeting of minds, with Simon putting his signature spin on Emily’s Superfood Salad.

In true Simon fashion, everyday cupboard staples became ingredients cleverly concocted by his Lakes chefs - like fermented courgette juice in place of lemon juice and, a classic, Corra Linn cheese instead of parmesan.

A day of curiosity and laughter - where the BTS shots are as good as the final edit.

For the recipe head to @rogan_simon & @emthenutritionist - full video coming to youtube soon!

Last month, our team spent the day filming across both Kung Fu Mama locations in Canary Wharf and Covent Garden.

From early planning to capturing the action, each piece of content was created with a clear goal: reach new audiences.

The mango shaved ice went viral, generating over 170k views, 5k reposts and almost 400 new followers across Instagram and TikTok.

Viral content isn’t always luck; it requires strategy, a creative eye, an understanding of what makes people tick and usually plenty of trial and error.

Swipe through for a behind-the-scenes look at the process.

PS - If you’re near Canary Wharf this weekend and next, Kung Fu Mama are offering a free mini mango shaved ice with any noodle bowl purchase.

Say hello to Leal, our Creative and Social Media Executive.

With an incredible visual eye, strong aesthetics and real technical skill, Leal brings a rare mix of creativity and strategic thinking. With experience as both an influencer and a natural trend-spotter, she has an instinct for what works digitally and how brands can connect with people in a meaningful way.

As the newest member of our team, she already plays a key role in our social strategies, helping us consistently produce thoughtful, engaging work across various platforms.

Off the screen, she is kind, caring (to both people and her small home family of animals) and simply a wonderful person to have as part of the team.

Setting Intentions.

Last month i have really been looking at what is it that i want moving into 2025.
As many of you know or may not know we are in the third year of having our studio which we couldnt be more grateful for, yet hasnt gone without hard work and sacrifice. Weirdly i sat back and for the first time in a long time have been like shit! Look how far we have come and also a feeling of settle and calm. It hit me that my intentions for 2025 are 100 percent to be inspired and push myself outside of my comfort zone.
This seems like a long winded way of starting this post but bare with. I have followed Leal now for a few years now i believe it to be since 2021 and have always been in awe of her hair and wanted to cut it. Strangely after settings this 2025 intention Leal reached out for a consultation.
We had a great exchange and Leal kindly put together some references/moodboards of shapes that she was really enjoying at the time and some shapes that werent where she wanted to go with the cut.
We looked at images with a balance of shape connecting the shape from a previous diy cut. We wanted to keep fullness and have some shaping around the face without a distinct fringe.
When we took a further look at the shapes we defined it down to wanting width to the haircut which in turn compromised some level of length but would allow for the haircut to breathe through layering but also hold a fullness at the baseline rather than it tapering in. We also decided that some of the reference images the layering used created more diconnection within the shape and thats definately not what we wanted for the overall look so we moved more towards afuller shape.
On this occasion i cut dry to begin with as Leal had already washed and dried her hair before the appointment which allowed us to then create the width of the haircut without having to manufacture the shape through drying techniques. I then washed and recut to technically put in the strength of my weightline so that we could keep the corners at the front of the haircut even with the face framing. We dried and i refined the haircut dry using Trepadora as my desired styling products.
