I can’t wait to watch these brilliant artists burn it down at @goldenhourpod’s GOLDEN HOUR FEST in less than two weeks. We’re giving you music! Comedy! Drag! AND to top it all off, a custom AAPI-inspired menu by our venue hosts @farmtopeople.

I’ll also be giving a special, one-time only performance of my latest EP, Neon God in its entirety.

We sold out a month in advance last time so if I were smart I would get my tickets now! Pay what you want and proceeds benefit @fig_nyc_, who are working to provide food to those in need this holiday season. Link in my bio.

Dress code is BLACK AND GOLD!! 🖤💛🖤💛

Lea Thomas - What Did The Music Sound Like
Full lyrics below. Stream the song and watch the music video at link in bio!

You were going to see
the city looking
for a “change”
-what a loaded word.
You would never be the same.

And your sighs were fogging up the window,
watching all the lights go
in and out of frame like
gold thread over
black velvet.

Did you hear it?
What did the music sound like
What did the music sound like
What did the music sound like
What did the music sound like
It’s been a long ride
It will be a long ride still

A little more than a microdose- you were wide awake.
Seems like the shadow work paid better than your day job.

And your eyes were burning through the ceiling:
the colors and the feelings
of endless surprise
when you see things
through a new light.

Did you hear it?
What did the music sound like
What did the music sound like
What did the music sound like
What did the music sound like
It’s been a long ride and
it’ll be a long ride still.

Are you ready
for the break down?
It might not feel so heavy
If you listen to the sound.

Heart, hold steady.
Let the music bring you back around.
Just listen to the sound.
Listen to the sound.

What did the music sound like?
What did the music sound like?
What did the music sound like?
It’s been a long ride and it’ll be a long ride still.

You were going to see
the city looking
for a “change”
-what a loaded word.
You would never be the same.

Recording the dawn chorus in VT this summer...just before we came across a huge moose eating some breakie...eagerly awaiting the return of summer from my snowy apartment perch...

on this snowcovered day I am remembering the most cozy experience in my days - recording with @lealeathomas in November, playing guitar and other small tones on her record. in vermont, where lea baked loaves and loaves in preparation for the session and stirred big huge tea everyday for our happy biomes.

playing music with other people is the greatest joy and physical embodiment of soul connection that I know - I feel so grateful to get to participate in this ancient universal ritual from time to time. if you’ve never unison fingerpicked with two other acoustics and felt the big wobbly low notes bend your head in the headphones when you all three thumb them just so...you gotta get on that.
