Running into the new week grateful for those who believe in me more than I believe in myself, and who push me to be better than I was yesterday - find those people, keep them close, thank them, and reciprocate their belief and push 🤝

What a weekend for Herculus Media—one of the most stressful and rewarding we’ve ever had.

My wife @herculus_photography has been grinding as my second shooter, learning everything I know behind the lens. This weekend, she took all of that and ran her own team at a completely different event—in another state—while I was leading ours.

Running two crews, in two places, on the same day is no small thing. It pushed us to our limits, but it also proved what’s possible when you’ve got the right people by your side.

To every single person on both teams: thank you. You carried the weight, you handled the chaos, and you made it happen. And a huge thank you to @_joe_linton @mrs_linton @thelegendschampionship @thebobjennings for trusting our team year after year—it means the world to us.

Here’s to big challenges, even bigger lessons, and the best team we could ask for. 🙌

In January 2013, Mark Bertelsen was told he had three to five years to live.

He was diagnosed with multiple system atrophy, a rare and progressive neurological disorder that affects the brain and multiple body systems.

While the doctors were calling social workers to prepare him for the end of his life, Bertelsen was calling CrossFit affiliates, determined to fight for his life.

He joined @doubledowncrossfit (formally CrossFit Reformation) and by 2014 was already reversing his symptoms. A decade later, Bertelsen is still alive and even competing at his first elite CrossFit competition this weekend.

Hard work really does pay off.
When I signed up for @desertcityclassic, I didn’t have cross unders (proficiently) or hand stand walking.
Luckily, @hwpotraining was unknowingly prepping me. We were working on those things for some weeks prior with the gymnastics and skills work (included in Flagship 2.0). My cross unders were getting there but my hsw was hit or miss. Sometimes I would get 5’, sometimes not. When they released the workouts and I saw both CU and HSW in the same workout I was nervous, but I let my training do the talking. With a broken pinky and a HUGE callus tear, I managed to get 2x 10’ intervals and 8x 5’ intervals with 0 no reps!!!!! I was so stoked!

We do it with kids..
We do it with tough jobs ..
We do it with busy schedules..
We do it distracted..
We do it exhausted..
We do it sore..
We do it stressed..
We do it over 45..

Regardless… We do it anyway.

And when:
@herculusmedia
@herculus_photography
@leanin_media
@shutterspeed.fit

sends you all these amazing pics… you have to figure how to use them all!
