there are moments that define a band just like there are experiences that define a life, and for me, now, the two are truly interchangeable. TYSK TYSK TASK is my purest channel for tapping into myself, into my brain, into my heart, the logic-emotional connection, and finding how they interchange and interact. @wicky_motel calls it “my expression,” and i just love that… when i hate myself and want to throw everything away (ofc, i think we all feel this way from time to time, though those moments have been coming again for me lately more often than i’d like), i remember that there are still songs to write, people to meet, musicians to collaborate with and, as my late father made me realize, sunsets to see… “HOME NOW” is the most important song i have ever written, and i want to thank from the bottom of my heart @keithdusoe, @joe_itsmilia and rick for helping me hone it in and to make it what is today. it is about love and loss and grief and family and dysfunction and sadness all tied together by the concept of resiliency. the band worked really hard recording this live in our basement where we practice, and rick worked even harder to compile/craft and take all my notes to make this track really special. it so truly is the most wonderful thing this band has put out yet, in my humble opinion, and it is my hope + prayer that the songs only get more beautiful, artful and clear in the mission from here… this song, a follow-up to “OCEAN NOW” from our last record, came out friday and it would mean a lot if you would listen! ALSO… playing @wildflowerfest this weekend was truly wonderful and we were so grateful to be a co-headliner and open for @gollylagging + @_711jesus_ with the incredible @darth_brandon_ opening for us… it was a joy to dial in the guitar tones and let it rip for you, especially in the mist and the rain. thank you to everyone who came out 🖤 bunny photos in this single art collage by @innovacancy 🐇 🐇 🐇 it only gets better from here 🦌🌿🌸🐿️🪵 - @delicatetendril #newmusic #bostonmusic #grunge #shoegaze

THE SUMMER OF ANSWERS (tw)… ok, i have a lot to say in this so bear/bare/🐻 w me. we have our new song “Home Now” that comes out next 8/22, the day @tysktysktask is one of three headliners for the NH ecology-driven @wildflowerfest. this is a major deal for TTT because, as most of you know, we don’t headline often, if ever… this feels like a major accomplishment for me eight years into my dream of fronting a rock band. if you’ve been following along, you know Tysk Tysk Task saved my life more than once and i was s*icid*l and felt i had nothing to live for and things would end soon anyway so why not do the craziest thing i had always wanted to do: write songs with driving riffs and thriving drums and live out my @catpowerofficial/ @ko inspired DIY dreams. it has become so much more than that now. the songs aren’t just about me escaping my life or getting over heartbreak… they’ve been there to help me process and understand my grief, the loss of my father, the friendships i have made because Tysk Tysk Task introduced me to them, the people i have met and collaborated with, 🦌🫶🏻 rick + joe who have made this project what it is today SERIOUSLY, and keith💕, my life partner + soulmate whom i met BECAUSE OF THIS BAND and who is now IN OUR BAND helping me write and craft songs in ways i never could have considered before 😭. this part blows my mind… do you know what i mean? like, the life i only dreamed of is here now. i have a home now. i have a life i never thought possible. through tears i write this knowing others feel every day the way i did… darkness and murkiness that screams “it’s not worth it, you can’t do it.” now i know there is always another sunset to see. there is always an ocean or forest or mountain view you can find. there are people you haven’t met yet who will change your life, in whole books of ways, or in short chapters... this new song came to me in the dead of winter an early morning when i was having a really hard morning and another chronic migraine spiral and i just needed to write a song. i hadn’t written anything new for a few months + i was feeling very guilty about that, of course.
