There’s a particular kind of London lunch that involves pretending you’re not looking at anyone, while knowing perfectly well who’s sitting at the next table. I can safely say that @lecafenac has mastered the art.

Tucked away in Belgravia, it is exactly the sort of address you pass on to a friend whose taste you actually trust. A little fashionable, a little discreet, full of people who seem to have nowhere urgent to be.

I ordered the carpaccio, because I’ve always believed you can judge a kitchen by how well it handles something that leaves very little room to hide. Beautifully delicate, full of flavour, exactly the sort of dish that reminds you why simplicity is a skill 🤍
