White comes with a lot of sartorial baggage. Bridal. Romantic. Summery. Delicate.

But white can also be strong, powerful and professional. As shown with this @ledore_studios pant suit.

The exaggerated shoulders, sharply defined waist and wide trousers give the white authority.

Then I added oxblood pointed heels from @kwfootwear and, underneath, a secondhand ruffled top from @dressforsuccess_wgtn to interrupt the monochrome.

I love colour, but sometimes removing most of it makes you notice something else. Here, it is the silhouette doing the talking.

White can be soft. It can also mean business.

If I could only wear one fabric for the rest of my life, I think it might just be tweed. A gorgeous morning in Featherston inspired today’s outfit. The days are getting longer, the light is getting stronger and brighter, and I wanted colour with the saturation turned all the way up.

Chartreuse green blazer from @jacqueline_anne_atelier Hot pink secondhand shirt. Tangerine orange satin skirt from @ledore_studios . A little yellow vintage belt and pink @mi_piaci heels.

There’s nothing particularly subtle about the palette, but that’s rather the point. After months of dressing through Wellington winter, this feels much more appropriate for the improving weather.
