SYNOPSIS:
Set against the haunting beauty of Appalachia, “Love Song for a Wailing Earth” intimately follows one woman who returns home a year after Hurricane Helene to confront what was lost—and what remains. Through an unvarnished, vulnerable performance, dancer Conway Weary channels the collective grief of climate trauma, offering a raw and poetic meditation on displacement and ecological loss.

freshman year at scad was a year i’ll never forget. i came in unsure of what to expect, but i’m leaving with more confidence, more independence, and a better understanding of who i am.

through photography, i got to keep learning how i see the world, and through dance, i found a place where i could be myself and meet so many amazing people. this year brought me so many memories, new experiences, and people who made everything feel more meaningful.

i’m truly thankful for the people who helped me get through this year, whether they were there for the big moments, the hard days, or just the times i needed someone. they know who they are, and i hope they know how much they mean to me. the friends i made this year are a huge part of why scad started to feel like home.

this was only the beginning, and i’m so excited for what’s next.
